Summary

By drawing on his decades of experience working with small-business owners, Michael Gerber is adding to his mega-selling E-Myth series with The E-Myth Accountant. This installment provides a one-of-a-kind system for transforming an accountant’s practice into a business positioned for long-term growth.

This is the next installment in the series of E-Myth handbooks developed specifically for key industries. As with previous titles, The E-Myth Accountant has distilled small-business advice that specifically caters to this business segment. Although business owners know everything about their trade, very few know how to effectively run a business—the void that Michael Gerber can fill with his powerful advice. In Gerber’s signature easy-to-understand, easy-to-implement style, he addresses such specific aspects of the business as money, people, management, and growth.

Good

I enjoyed this book but I agree that Darren's voice is very dull compared to Michael's. the contents however are solid and the lesson's timeless. good job!

ruined by the second narrator

Great listen as always. it's such a shame that Darren had to some of the narrating, so un-charismatic and boring. Sorry Darren.

The how was missing

Cannot beat a general E myth book. Talks in broad terms without any detail. The how was the missing ingredient.

Not that great

This book is beyond simple. Too much time is spent on teaching and less on exploring - narrator is boring - I am not sure you should waste your time on this if you want to market your practice much better way to get on and do it.

Very boring

I am an accountant and have business experience, so maybe this book is not for me. The authors go on about them selfs for the first 15min, so you can skip that. The terms they use are not the day-to-day business language in the UK.
In short, look after your cash flow and keep a good eye on your income and expenses. Make sure you have a good bookkeeping system in place and it will be okay, Be strict on admin and bookkeeping that is where most businesses and organisations go wrong. If you are not good at admin (which you would expect from an accountant) employee or buy in the resources to do it for you, don't skimp on it.
Not sure how these guys are building a business on common sense.
