My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I'm the villain of this story. I've decided to lay myself bare. To tell the truth for once in my hollow life, no matter how dark it gets. And I can assure you, it will get so dark that you'll find yourself feeling around the blackened corners of my mind, seeking a door handle that isn't there. Don't mistake this for a confession. I neither seek forgiveness nor would I accept it. My sins are my own. They keep me company. Instead, this is the true tale of how I found her, how I stole her, and how I lost her.

Summary
When Fig Coxbury buys a house on West Barrett Street, it's not because she likes the neighborhood, or even because she likes the house.
It's because everything she desires is next door: the husband, the child, and the life that belongs to someone else.

Grow up ladies...
Don't expect the world to take you seriously when you whine about sex and language in literature. You sound infantile, like toddlers. Be the grown women you are and read the book from an adult perspective.
Giving bad reviews because of your own hang upset is unfair. The language is entirely APPROPRIATE given the character and her issues.
As for the snarky narration you do realize this book is written as very very dark humor. I figured out some ppl do not have the humor gene. FIG referring to Jolene as " bad mommy" was funny and typical of her personality. Yeah she is a bitch. Lol.
The book was excellent and character driven as opposed to action. If you are expecting lots of action then read an action author. This book is based on clever dialogue. That's just the kind of book it is. If you find clever, snarky, messed up dialogue boring then get your refund. It is a psychological thriller. It fits into that genre like a glove.
I disliked the protagonist because she was written to be unlikeable. That didn't make her uninteresting.
Don't put too much sick into the reviews and cheat yourself out of a good read just because of others agendas and personal tastes. It's a wonderfully wicked, humorous well written mind f--k of a book.
Enjoy.

Brilliant- really good!
Bad Mommy is an immensely entertaining yet genuinely creepy tale of personality disorders gone wild. Fig Coxbury wants what Jolene Avery has- a handsome psychologist husband, a beautiful little daughter and stylish friends. Fig sets her sights on the family, moving next door and inserting herself as a fixture into the family, all the while planning her takeover. Husband Darius is not all that he appears. Jolene now has her hands full. Told from these three points of view, this novel kicks into high gear from the start and doesn’t let up. Fascinating, haunting, scary and a little too easy to picture happening in real life, which makes it all the more interesting. Highly recommended!

Mediocre and Redundant
The narration was good, the plot was ok at first, but soon became tiresome and trite. Then it ended rather abruptly, not with a bang, but more like a wet fizzle. Uninspired.

Strange
I listen to a lot of novels of this type, but this one is very odd. Characters weren’t deep and and it was not even close to single white female. The story didn’t make sense in some places. Sorry- I tried to like it.

Tarryn Fisher is a genius!
Once again Tarryn Fisher has owned me. She is the master of weaving her words into a story that kept me captivated. I couldn't stop listening and finished this in a day. I have read all of her novels and it is clear, the author has a dark side to her. The story follows a woman named Fig, who is convinced her miscarried baby's soul is in another child she has been stalking. Told from 3 different point of views, the character and plot twists will keep you guessing until the end.

This book sucks & the voices are just terrible. I’ll never get these 7+ hours back of my life. God forgive me.
I’m giving it two stars only for the great effort these people put into it for a paycheck, instead of robbing a bank, or mugging some poor grandma.
