Summary
Newlyweds Tricia and Ethan are searching for the house of their dreams. But when they visit the remote manor that once belonged to Dr. Adrienne Hale, a renowned psychiatrist who vanished without a trace four years earlier, a violent winter storm traps them at the estate… with no chance of escape until the blizzard comes to an end.
In search of a book to keep her entertained until the snow abates, Tricia happens upon a secret room. One that contains audio transcripts from every single patient Dr. Hale has ever interviewed. As Tricia listens to the cassette tapes, she learns about the terrifying chain of events leading up to Dr. Hale’s mysterious disappearance.
Tricia plays the tapes one by one, late into the night. With each one, another shocking piece of the puzzle falls into place, and Dr. Adrienne Hale’s web of lies slowly unravels. And then Tricia reaches the final cassette. The one that reveals the entire horrifying truth.

some good twists
the woman reading is such a beautiful reader, very softly spoken. I was expecting more from the story, there was some good twists. but I wanted to no what she did with her body too. I kinda wanted more. but nether the less it wasn't a bad book.

Best book so far, whatever you're thinking you know you don't. the twist is one of the best I've ever read (or heard) this was amazing

Wowowow
I absolutely love this story. About 2/3 of the way through, I was really frustrated because I felt that the plot twist was going to be so obvious. Boy was I wrong! I would not have been able to predict that ending if I tried. And I tried.

Great twists but disappointing ending
I thought I knew what was coming - but I didn’t! I was really hooked and thought the twists were great. However I was then really let down by the ending. Such a shame!

Best book I have listened too in a long time
I am so fussy with thrillers/suspense and this book satisfied me.
I didn't want it to end .
it's the kind of cozy thriller that you will have to finish in a rainy day.
it's a must ,don't listen to any negative reviews it's completely thrilling and worth listening too .

Really Enjoyed This
I’m a huge fan of psychological thrillers, albeit new to the genre (I’m a true crime kinda gal and for fiction I feel dreadful when I cheat on Karin Slaughter), I was intrigued by the synopsis so gave it a whirl.
Others found it slow to start, but I call that the building of the bigger events.
The narrator carried it through wonderfully, and without too much inflection on things that upon reflection, were very good clues, it allowed me to enjoy the story to unfold.
I thought I’d figured it all out, and nearly did but with one key twist missing!
I recommend and shall listen to more from the author and narrator
