I’ve really enjoyed listening to the first audiobook in the DI Nick Dixon Crime series.

The story was entirely and had a number of twists and turns. The ending in particular was very clever, I didn’t see it coming.

The narrator was very good too. Simon Mattacks made the characters come to life.

If I had a complaint it was I wished the audiobook had been longer, that’s how good I found it. I can’t wait to listen to the next audiobook in the series.

A good story spoilt by a lack of characterisation in the voice over. The books are a bit short for the cost

Loved these with the exception of …The town of Worle in Somerset, England, is pronounced "Whirl", not "Worl" or "Wor-lee". It's a common mispronunciation due to the spelling.
Being local it grates ever time it’s mentioned.

As I actually come from Brent Knoll I found the story more intriguing, the writer accurately describes all the local areas, never been into murder mystery before but I couldn’t stop listening and the narration was fantastic I am now moving onto the next one

I enjoyed the book, as much for the detective process as much as the context of the crime. The cosy crime genre seems to have overtaken traditional police procedurals of late, and it’s good to have a decent copper amongst us once more. I’ll be looking out for the rest in the series. The narrator did a great job.
