Summary

The free-spirited Anne Shirley has a beautiful way of looking at the world and touching our hearts. In this, the third volume of the Anne of Green Gables series, the irrepressible Anne dreams of the woman she hopes to be when she decides to leave Green Gables and her beloved Prince Edward Island for college. She is eager for new adventure. But now she faces difficult choices involving her secret aspirations to be a writer and her hopes of finding the right person to marry. Homesickness and a grumpy old math professor cause Anne to doubt she should be a Redmond College coed, even though her old friends Gilbert Blythe and Priscilla Grant are there to share the challenges and surprises. And when Anne is the recipient of unexpected marriage proposals from the most unlikely men, she may shock friends and Islanders alike with her decision.

What a shame a robot delivers the story

A lovely and heartwarming tale which really doesn’t age. Narration is a huge let down

Good and Bad

Great book! Awesome narrator!! Awful recording quality=( At times I could hear people talking and other sounds in the background of the recording.

Terrible recording & monotonous reader

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Loved the story but I couldn't get beyond the background noise in this recording and the dull monotonous reading by the narrator. It was really sub-standard.

Any additional comments?

Please get a good narrator like Shelly Frasier to do this audiobook. Her rendition of Book 1 in the series was just superb - the colourful vocal inflections and emotions portrayed in that reading made listening to that audiobook a real joy.

happy fluff

If your life brims with stress and harsh reality, this series will let you slip back to a slower time, filled with rich description and tradition.

This book is much more likea than Anne herself

Anne is really starting to suck as a person, but I still enjoyed hearing about all of the old time places and folks in her world.

An excellent story but audio had an echo

I adore all the Anne books and this is no different. my only issue is that the audio had some background echo. I thought it was my device at first but it was not. It became very distracting at times.
otherwise the reading by Susan O'Malley was very good. She does not overdo characters but gives them enough change to bring them to life. I quite enjoyed her reading.

Charming

All LM Montgomery books are charming, and this one does not disappoint. The narration has some technical issues that could have been fixed with a little more editing, but they weren't that distracting.

Loved the story, hated the baby talk

The story was great. I didn't like the narrator. She uses something like baby talk for the female characters. It's kind of awful. I never imagined Anne as a Betty Boop baby talker.
