A very enthralling and impressively told tale, with solid, engaging performances from the voice cast on all sides.
This audible story tells the story of Arthur and his struggles through an entirely new lens in post roman Britain, where Saxons, barbarians and epic power struggles replace dragons and giants of the classical fantasy tale.
All the traditional characters are reimagined in an interesting and compelling way yet their story arcs around each other as well as their characters pays tribute to the original mythos.
My only objections is that this depiction of Arthur could have been less of an vain careless arsehole to his friends and I am curious as to whether this audible original series will receive a sequel based on how open the ending left matters in the plot.
This is a worthwhile listen with a Game of a Thrones inspired design of morally grey or imperfect characters replacing the noble knights of chivalry and worth a buy to listen to while on your walks or during work breaks.

Fulfills that low fantasy medieval story niche

The Performance & sound effects were brilliant - very entertaining. I'm not quite sure that was going on with some of the accents & they kept changing... The Story was not a traditional King Arthur story.. dominated by the woman :)

The Performance was FAB! Not a traditional story

After a slow start it built up nicely. Brave new retelling of the legend.
Cannot wait for the next part.

Really enjoyable

It took me until the end of the book to realise that this story is describing the way in which a flawed character becomes a legend, with a plot set in the time of ancient Britain. I found it hard to follow sometimes because of the unusual names and the similarity between many of the voices, but I'd still recommend it as a gripping drama and an interesting story line

the acting is great, the sound effects brilliant. the story starts well enough but quickly falls apart into a rushed confusion about an unlikable Arthur who's suddenly churlish and inept competing with owain who's the real hero of the story it seems.

if you want a better version of the legend go with the Bernard Cornwell Arthurian tale

a middling tale of a classic legend

Really enjoyed this, but got lost in who was who, difficult to follow, but sound effects and voices were great.

Great but lost track of who was who
