Summary
Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object - artfully encoded with five ancient symbols - is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor Peter Solomon - prominent Mason and philanthropist - is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving Peter is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon finds himself plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations...all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth.
The Lost Symbol is exactly what Dan Brown's fans have been waiting for...his most thrilling novel yet.

The Lost Symbol : By Dan Brown
Dan Brown as we have come to expect.
Narration was excellent and had me listening with anticipation for the next sentence. Unfortunately the book itself died a death towards the end and had me waiting for an ending that never really came...Im afraid I was dissapointed.

Very predictable
Dan Brown is a great writer, with interesting facts in his books. But this book is so predictable all the way through. good but not great.

bril base plot shadowed by over dramatic storyline
I really like Dan Brown's books and the thought provoking back drops he writes about. unfortunately as the series continues the side stories get over dramatic, here with unnecessary overbearing CIA. however it was worth baring through for the thoughts on fusion of ancient religion and science

Good but not as good
Standard Dan Brown - secrets, codes and a nasty man chasing people with a greater spirtual goal. All in all I could not recommend it but if you like Dan brown then you'll like this.
I really enjoyed The Da Vinci Code but found the fact that this is all set in Washington D.C. rather dull - it feels like it's been written with the movie in mind

Needs a movie
Only one thing with Dan Brown's books. They end. Another triumph in the Robert Langdon series
