About this listen

The astonishing number 1 global bestseller, featuring symbologist Robert Langdon.

*NOW A MAJOR FILM STARRING TOM HANKS AND FELICITY JONES*

Florence: Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon awakes in a hospital bed with no recollection of where he is or how he got there. Nor can he explain the origin of the macabre object that is found hidden in his belongings.

A threat to his life will propel him and a young doctor, Sienna Brooks, into a breakneck chase across the city. Only Langdon’s knowledge of the hidden passageways and ancient secrets that lie behind its historic facade can save them from the clutches of their unknown pursuers.

With only a few lines from Dante’s Inferno to guide them, they must decipher a sequence of codes buried deep within some of the Renaissance’s most celebrated artworks to find the answers to a puzzle which may, or may not, help them save the world from a terrifying threat…

Robert Langdon returns in Dan Brown's brilliant new thriller, THE SECRET OF SECRETS, available for pre-order now.

I enjoy Dan Brown books but this started out hard going and lacked the usual draw. It was worth persevering with, however I personally feel there were several points in the story that detracted from the overall experience by describing detail that for me didn't seem to add to any aspect to the characters, story or background.

start was hard going. story good but over descript

Would you listen to Inferno again? Why?

I've read the book, listened to the audiobook and I would gladly do either, or both, again.

What did you like best about this story?

The story is action-packed and really easy to follow - much like other Dan Brown books.

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

Paul Michael's performance is brilliant, possibly being the best part about this audiobook. To be completely vague, his voice just seems to fit.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the 'love story' (?) element - you can't really call it that, though once you know the story you may understand - I found it moving once it was revealed.

Any additional comments?

This was the first audiobook that I listened to and, thinking back, it was a great choice. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Not Dan Browns best, but still fantastic.

What did you like most about Inferno?

Well I started listening to the book and initially I thought it was not going to be up to Dan Brown's previous books but how wrong can you be. I normally listen to my audio books on the drive to work and with this book I find myself trying to prolong my journey as I get further into the plot and intrigue. Paul Michael’s style of reading is great he is clear and puts a lot into the story getting you caught in the intrigue. I haven’t completely finished listening to the whole book yet but can’t wait to listen again and again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Langdon himself

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The inflections in his voice bringing the characters to life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the next

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sienna Brooks; A complex individual who is torn between her emotions and her mentality, brilliantly written.

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He captures the intellect and character of the individuals in the story and his voice inflections create the suspense and ambiance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No but in an ideal world as few as possible.

Any additional comments?

Listening to this book prompted me to purchase another Dan Brown novel, if it is as good as Inferno, I will definitely purchase more Dan Brown novels.
