Story
The Beach Hut follows the stories of the families who come to Everdene each year, people who fall in – or out – of love, remembering their pasts, or trying to forget them…There’s Jane Milton, left only debts by her husband, and forced to sell the beloved beach hut that holds so many happy memories; Sarah; for whom fidelity has lost its appeal; and Harry, suffering from the anguish of first love when he falls for Florence – who has grown up to be far more alluring than she ever used to be.

Story
Jodie Jackson is leaving her London life, her career and her husband behind. She'd like a chance to turn back the clocks, but she'll settle for some peace and quiet on her brother Bill's houseboat. But from the moment Jodie steps aboard her new home, it's clear she'll struggle to keep herself to herself. If it isn't Marilyn, who cleans for Bill and is under strict instructions to look after Jodie, then it's Ned, the noisy sculptor on the next-door houseboat. Ned's wood carving is hard on the ears, but it's made up for by the fact that he's rather easy on the eyes.

Story
Everyone adores Christmas. Especially Lizzy Kingham. But this year, she is feeling unloved, and under-appreciated by her family. The present-buying, decorating, and food shopping have all been left to her. So she wonders what would happen if she ran away and left them to it. Lizzy heads to her favourite place: a beach hut on the golden sands of Everdene. There, she meets an unlikely collection of new friends, all running away from something. But the spirit of Christmas gets under Lizzy's skin: soon the fairy lights are twinkling and the scent of mulled wine mingles with the sea air.

Story
All Marnie wants is somewhere to call home. Mourning lost years spent in a marriage that has finally come to an end, she needs a fresh start and time to heal. Things she hopes to find in the rural west Lancashire village her mother always told her about. With nothing but her two green thumbs, Marnie takes a job as a gardener, which comes with a little cottage to make her own. The garden is beautiful - filled with roses, lavender and honeysuckle - and only a little rough around the edges. Which is more than can be said for her next-door neighbour, Ned Mars.

Story
When Lisa Jones and her boyfriend George take on the run-down Rocks Hotel, they aim to do for Mariscombe what Rick Stein did for Padstow and set up a chic maritime retreat. But renovating a hotel is about more than stripped wooden floors and Egyptian cotton sheets, particularly when the locals are shifty and unhelpful. Especially Bruno Thorne, the tall, dark and surly owner of the nearby Mariscombe Hotel, where life is one long holiday; for the staff, anyway.

Story
For Sam Lovell, organising the summer festival in her hometown is one of the highlights of her year. It’s not always smooth sailing, but she loves to see Porthmellow’s harbour packed with happy visitors and being on the committee has provided a much-needed distraction from the drama in her family life (and the distinct lack of it in her love life). When their star guest pulls out with only a few weeks to go, everyone’s delighted when a London chef who grew up locally steps in at the last minute.

Delightful easy listen
What a pleasurable story to listen to on a chilly Winter night. Beautifully read by Julia Franklin. She made the book come to life. It is not a normal mushy love story, it is full of reality and difficulties, but of course , it has a wonderfully happy ending, leaving me wanting more, always a good sign.

Nice tho a little twee
The story is nice with a poignant underlying theme that brought a tear or two.. but I did roll my eyes a little all the way through at all the oh so wonderful people and the cliché expressions. Talented narrator who obviously knew the book well.. Tho a little over earnest at times.

What a brilliant read/listen. I'm writing this with happy tears streaming down. very emotional and real. I sooooo want to meet Gwen. lovely lovely book. quite an emotional roller coaster as the story weaves between the present and the past, very well written. The scene setting is well done and I often listened at night with my eyes closed and could have been a fly on the wall. Definitely recommend.

Cosy up & relax
Loved this book! Got my knitting out, plugged in my earphones and I was there. The writing was evocative with beautiful descriptions of the area, homes and people. Each character has their own story and none are neglected no matter how big or small a player they are in the story. I didn't love the narrator's male voices and thought Robyn a bit breathy but that aside, I would highly recommend if you're looking for a book to lose yourself in while forgetting the worries of your normal day to day life.

Another lovely Beach Hut Book
If you want to escape Lockdown Life then highly recommend this audible book. Lovely story and was a joy to listen to. The only thing that spoilt it for me was the narrator doing the male voices - very gruff but on the whole she did a good job bringing the characters to life
