Summary

Be swept away by the new breath-taking romantic novel from Sunday Times best-selling author and Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke.

This Christmas, you are cordially invited to the wedding of the year!

London, 1938.

When fiercely independent chambermaid Nancy Nettleton first moved to London and the Buckingham hotel, the last thing on her mind was finding love, let alone falling for the debonair demonstration dancer Raymond de Guise.

As the festive season approaches, life at the exclusive hotel is busier than ever, with guests arriving from around the world, seeking comfort, relaxation and refuge as tensions build across Europe and it looks like another war is imminent.

Behind the scenes, the staff work tirelessly, ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel, guarding the secrets of their guests - but they have many of their own that they fear will be revealed.

As the band strikes up in the Grand Ballroom to celebrate Nancy and Raymond's wedding, one thing is certain - this will be a Christmas to remember.

Narrator annoyed me

I loved the book but it really annoyed me every time I heard Thomas Judd say "Vivienne". Why on earth he changed the pronunciation from the previous books, I dont know, but it really annoyed me.

Lovely story to listen to

I am really enjoying this series of books. Total escapism and I always feel lost when they end and can’t wait for the next one. The narrator is very good and was able to use a different voice for every character and helped to being the story alive.

Beautiful book

You don’t need to have read other books in the series to enjoy this one. The narrator captures the characters beautifully and helps you to believe you are there witnessing what is going on. I would highly recommend this book

Very enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this third book by Anton. I thought it was the best one yet. I loved listening all about the characters within the Buckingham Hotel. This book was in my opinion the best of the three and I look forward to hopefully reading a fourth. The narration was excellent too!

Absolutely lovely!

Each of these novels just gets better and better! Really charming and heart warming with enough 'edge' to keep it a page -turner too. I really do admire Mr Du Beke for his ability to turn a world he knows about into a world the listener feels they also know about. The characters have real life and authenticity and you find you really care about them.
I do hope there will be more in the series as I for one really look forward to finding out what happens next!
