Excellent guide.

Answered a few of the questions I had on the topic. Definitely skewed towards the Christian reader with all the Bible quotes.

Selected Passages only

What about Kiersten Kingsley’s performance did you like?

The reader was terrific.

Any additional comments?

This is based on a 30 day mission book, and is listed as unabridged. I noticed days were skipped, and at the end I was thanked for listening and they hoped I enjoyed listening to selected passages.

It's a great book, and very short, so I'm not sure why it would be abridged (or why it's not listed as abridged). I would love to give it 5 stars across the board.

Everyone should read!!!!

You will not regret either reading the book or listening to Audio. Straight to the point! I've been reading self help books and taking classes for years. Who knew that this 2 1/2 hour audio book would have such a positive impact on me. My tongue has been the root to a lot of my problems in life and my relationships. I wish I would of found this book a lot sooner.

Good advice

I really appreciated her wisdom and insight on this topic. Taming the tongue has really been on my mind and she gives great insight into many of the pitfalls and includes ways to correct them. I like that she turns it back to our need to seek Godly wisdom and emphasizes the importance that we need to be teachable and allow the Holy Spirit to correct us and retrain us in areas of weakness. The challenge will be in implementation because as we strive to correct our behavior this will inevitably impact our relationships. For example, if we have a relationship that always leads to a lot of gossip and complaining and we try to correct this tendency in ourselves the other person might balk at the correction because they might be really sensitive in this area and say something like they should have a right to vent and that you are being judgemental. One thing I wish she'd provided more of was advice on how to deal with push back from someone who doesn't want to be introspective and correct their behavior. She did provide some but more would have been nice.

Great Study!

Quotes:
Wise people don’t make a show of their knowledge.

“Engaging in deceitfulness is a slap in God’s face and has dire consequences. When we make a choice not to trust Him to handle a situation, we, in essence, decide He is a liar and will renege on His promise to meet every need. We then proceed to make our own way by any means necessary—even being deceptive. In doing so we forfeit the good life God had planned for us.”
― Deborah Smith Pegues, 30 Days to Taming Your Tongue

My Thoughts:
The best way I can describe 30 Days to Taming Your Tongue is a 3D in book form. It will pop up at you with the truth. Again most of the books that I have chosen to read throughout this year are books that will help me become better, and once again, another book that really takes you to a place of self-analysis. It makes you question yourself, "Are the words I am about to say words that will uplift or idle words"?

This book falls under the devotional category. It is intended to be read daily for 30 days. However, I read it straight through, which is an option as well. It is an easy read and can be finished within a couple of hours. Each day represents a type of tongue that can produce negative and toxic verbal communication.

What I liked most: The author uses humor, anecdotes, and scripturally based affirmations. I also appreciate the tips she offers on how to overcome.. I appreciate
Appendix A Daily Tongue Eval Checklist
Appendix B Alternative Uses for the Tongue
Appendix C Arsenal of Tongue Scripture

Not What I Expected but Pleasantly Surprised!

I must admit, this book was not what I expected however I was pleasantly surprised! There were many biblical principles presented that can be applied to every conversation to ensure your words are used to build up and not tear down! It's so crazy that we sometimes convince ourselves that the "half-truths" don't hurt anyone because they're "not really lies." Think again! This short book reminded me of the power that lies in what we speak into the atmosphere.

I enjoyed the material and took so many notes! Will definitely revisit!
