While visiting a haunted mansion, psychic-medium Eloise Blythe senses something sinister in the shadows, something besides mere ghosts that have held the Forge family in a vice-like grip of misery for generations. As a flood rages outside, forcing everyone to remain inside the haunted mansion, Eloise both works with and against a set of bickering siblings, some of whom have their own secret agendas to claim the family fortune. 

Psychic medium Eloise Blythe is attacked by strangers who know things she's never told anyone. Depraved and demented, they are similar to the invisible entity that has assaulted Eloise in her car, on the street, and everywhere she goes. She is on the trail of a secret society that may be responsible for the string of murdered teenage girls around the county, each with the same MO: broken elbows, knees, and ankles.

The Shadow Man lives in Gideon's closet. At night, he steps out and watches the five-year-old. And with each passing day, he gets a little closer to Gideon's bed. Psychic medium Eloise Blythe is brought in to remove the entity from the boy's room, but the deeper she digs into the case, she discovers the Shadow Man isn't solely tethered to Gideon. He's tied to Eloise's friends and family, as well as the darkest evil on the planet.

Even with the assistance of her long-lost friend, Jocelyn, she is unable to vanquish the evil presence in the home. As the family’s fate hangs in the balance, Eloise is terrorized by a more pressing matter, one that will force her to call upon all of her supernatural skills if she hopes to survive the greatest threat that she had ever faced.
