Der sauerländische Bauer Tom ist Mitte vierzig und chronisch pleite. Zusammen mit seiner Frau Rita, einer Ur-Berlinerin, und seinen pubertierenden Kindern lebt er im beschaulichen Killbach. Nichts scheint ihm zu gelingen, er hat Schulden und Mühe, seinen Hof zu halten. Das ändert sich, als ein Erdrutsch in seinem Wald eine merkwürdige Höhle freilegt. Sein Ex-Schwager Herbert, ein erfolgreicher PR-Mann, überredet Tom, aus der seltsamen Höhle Kapital zu schlagen. Herbert bringt die Höhle mit dubiosen Mitteln in alle Medien, und schon bald locken die wildesten Verschwörungstheorien allerlei seltsame Besucher nach Killbach.

Jupp Hammerschmidt lässt die Eifel in diesem Werk lebendig werden! Im Klümpchensglas sammelten Kinder früher über die Fastenzeit hinweg Himbeer- und Zitronenklümpchen, die schließlich ab Karsamstag gegessen werden durften. Ähnlich diesen Systems hinterließ auch das Wirtschaftswunder nach und nach seine Spuren in der Eifel. In seinen Geschichten erinnert sich der Autor daran, wie es war, als die "schlechte Zeit" durch das Wirtschaftswunder stetig abgelöst wurde.

Geschichten aus der Eifel, gebündelt in diesem wundervollem Werk! In Hammerschmidts Frisierkommode gibt es einiges zu finden. Geschichten, Anekdoten und Szenen, die über den abenteuerlichen Alltag in der Eifel berichten. So erzählt der Autor von seinem Leben als "homo eifelensis" mit einem Humor, den er auch auf der Bühne unter Beweis stellt. Denn die meisten der Texte sind so oder in ähnlicher Variante auch auf der Bühne zu hören. Tolle Unterhaltung in jeder einzelnen Geschichte ist garantiert! Jupp Hammerschmidt wurde 1947 im Eifeldorf Höfen nahe Monschau geboren.
