We are delighted to offer this excerpt from The Poems of Rumi as read by Coleman Barks, leading scholar and translator of Rumi poetry, and Robert Bly, poet, author, and leader of the men's movement. Jalaluddin Rumi is a beloved as a spiritual master and one of the greatest poets of all time.

Often, when speaking of what he has called the poetic operation of language, Scott Cairns has characterized that event as our “glimpsing an indeterminate, inexhaustible enormity within a discrete space.” This is the poet's continuing fascination with lacunae, those spaces, those openings that offer more within than appearances can register from outside the ostensible covert of their terms. This work was originally a set of transcription notes from a talk given by Father Michael Fish, monk, New Camaldole of Big Sur, at Incarnation Monastery, Berkeley. Father Michael spoke of his life in contemplative prayer as a Benedictine living in Big Sur at Immaculate Heart Hermitage. In an effort to catch the poetic sensibility of his long talk of more than an hour, held in the urban monastery chapel, I distilled the notes from the talk I attended as a poem.

A sublime book of 31 poems written by Frater Achad. This edition has been fully and completely digitally remastered to be as close to the now out-of-print original. It is a loving work of art dedicated to the memory of the author. Frater Achad was an occultist and ceremonial magician. An early aspirant to AA (the 20th to be admitted as a Probationer in December 1909) who "claimed" the grade of Magister Templi as a Neophyte, he also became an OTO initiate. He worked under a variety of mottos and pseudonyms, but he is best known under his Neophyte motto Achad (Hebrew "unity", אחד).
