Peter Cook was a supremely talented comedian who influenced a generation of entertainers. From Beyond The Fringe, with Dudley Moore, Alan Bennett and Jonathan Miller, to Not Only But Also, again with Dudley Moore, to opening London's first nightclub devoted to satire. He was a scriptwriter, actor and entertainer, always with a razor sharp wit. In 1965 he appeared regularly on The Braden Beat where, as E.L. Wisty, he sat on a park bench and delivered the wonderful, absurd surreal monologues you can hear on this recording. This is a truly funny and wonderful gem.

The BSR crew have worked hard, getting the Slow Boatmen settled. They deserve a little time off at home in the Holler. Just kicking back, watching the world go by. Their shepherd has other ideas, of course.
