Everybody’s favorite over-the-top circus performers travel to Hemlock Cove, where they meet a group of witches they didn’t see coming, before heading to the Detroit area and visiting Poet Parker’s old stomping grounds. There, they come across a family of snarky reapers who challenge their world view...and a group of at-risk street kids who are in danger of being swallowed whole by a dark enemy. Finally, they stop at Mammoth Caves, where vampires (and something a little more sinister) seem to be taking over a small town and leaving nothing but devastation in their wake.

As if surviving the end of the world and the theft of my powers wasn’t enough on their own, a heaping pile of ogre and a side of human raiders has been added to my plate while trying to feed our starving caravan. The worst of what I face, though, is far harder to admit. My black magic takes its pound of flesh every time I use it, and each time the cost climbs. Mystic Caravan is hitting San Francisco. Unfortunately, a magical force in the city is hitting back. On their first night in town, they discover somebody has unleashed skeletons on the city… and there’s an army of them. The good news is that as far as foes go, they’re not very impressive. Poet Parker’s team can take them out with relative ease. The bad news is they’re not stopping… and they’re getting bolder each and every night. San Francisco’s history leads to a lot of questions. Are the skeletons coming from the cemeteries that were closed?

San Diego is the next stop for Mystic Caravan, and after a trying time in the desert, the group is looking forward to a relaxing time on the bay. There’s just one little problem. The teenagers of San Diego—both girls and boys—seem to be going wild…and not in a direct-to-video way. They’re growing violent, but the girls seem to have a reason, and the boys just seem to be embracing violence at every turn.

Poet Parker is Romani by birth and a fortune teller by choice. As a member of Mystic Caravan Circus, she's spent the past 10 years using her psychic talents to tell people what their future holds by day and hunting paranormal monsters by night. You see, Mystic Caravan is more than just a circus - it's also a force of good in a world that needs help fighting evil.

The honeymoon is over for Poet and Kade. After a blissful week off from the day-to-day grind of the circus—where the only problem they had to deal with was the weird snake that appeared on the front porch of their cabin—the newlyweds are back with their friends in Phoenix. And nothing will ever be the same again. Phoenix is a city run by a slither of lamia, and even though Raven tries to maintain her distance from them each year when the circus rolls around, that’s not really an option this time.

Mystic Caravan has hit Texas, and things are supposed to be quiet in Austin. The only thing of note in a city that praises itself for being weird is the nest of vampires that rules the town.

Mystic Caravan Circus is on the move after their winter break. First stop? Moonstone Bay. Poet Parker and crew are looking for a permanent location because traveling won’t be an option for much longer. They’re expecting a normal trip. They’re getting so much more...including a mystery. The day after they arrive, a body drops in the ditch across from the city park, and what follows is a series of bone-chilling events that revolve around the island’s children. It seems something weird is causing them to act out of sorts...and they might just have murder on their minds.

Poet Parker is living a new reality now that she knows what she is. Unfortunately for her, she still doesn’t know what she can do…and she doesn’t think she’s going to figure it out in Little Rock, Arkansas. Since her uncle Sidney is in tow, Poet is hopeful for a quiet week. Little Rock has never been a hotbed of activity. Quiet isn’t what she gets, however.

Poet Parker thought her past was lost to her...but it’s about to invade her present. Her uncle Sidney is in New Orleans, which just happens to be where Mystic Caravan is setting up shop for the week, but Poet isn’t expecting a happy reunion. Things are tense—to say the least—and that’s before zombies are reported in the French Quarter. New Orleans is one of Poet’s favorite places in the world, and she’s thrilled to be in the city, but when it becomes apparent that a war is brewing between powerful loas, the Big Easy becomes big trouble.

Mystic Caravan Circus is heading to the West Coast, and while everyone is happy for the change of scenery, there's a pall settling over the group. Poet and Kade are in a good place and planning for a change, but it's something Poet can't focus on because she feels as if someone is watching...and whoever it is has evil in his or her heart. The festival location is different, and instead of space, the circus denizens have festival workers and artisans on every side. They're open and exposed, and hiding their secret has never been more important.

Northern California beckons the Mystic Caravan crew and they’re looking forward to some down time after their previous stop. Emotions are running high and the workers are desperate to return to their normal lives. Poet Parker and Kade Denton, for instance, have a new camper to move into and they’re both excited at the prospect of an adventure that has nothing to do with monsters. All that changes on their first night in a new camp when wendigo howls fill the air and trouble comes knocking at their metaphorical door.

Poet Parker his having a rough time of it...and then some. She owes her boss Max Anderson everything for saving her from a life on the streets, but Mystic Caravan's favorite psychic is struggling because that loyalty caused her to lose a shot at true love. When the circus hits Brigham City, the nature lovers in the troupe are looking forward to visiting the Great Salt Lake while Poet can't shake the feeling that someone - or rather some dark thing - is watching her.
