Story1
On a cold, cloudy day in early February 1985, Shelley Wachsmann, then resident nautical archaeologist for the Israel Department of Antiquities and Museums, drove to Kibbutz Ginosar, an agricultural settlement near the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Two brothers, avid amateur archaeologists, had found a boat buried in the lake, its outlines revealed by receding lake waters. The boat was "possibly ancient," according to the handwritten note placed on Wachsmann's desk a day or two before.

I started this podcast because I felt like the Christian podcasts out there were not relatable. My life was messy and I wanted a podcast that was messy. I wanted stories from people that reflected the real things we go through in life, like abortion, divorce, and fury at God. This podcast is for the rest of us. You're not alone. There are others in the same boat as you.

If we build our house on sand, it might last for a while. But eventually things will start to crumble and collapse. We may even have forgotten we decided long ago to build on sand. That doesn’t change the reality of the situation though. Over time, anything not built on a solid foundation of truth is bound to eventually collapse. It must. So it can be rebuilt the right way. The era that’s now arriving is going to further shake whatever is not sound, whatever has been built on sand. We must collectively come to realize that the only way to get to the other side of our challenges is by ...

First, Salzman suffers a crippling case of writer’s block; then a sudden family tragedy throws his life into chaos. Have you ever wondered why there is so much prayer for the sick in Pentecostal, Charismatic, and Word of Faith churches, yet so few of the seriously ill are healed? Or why people fall down under the spirit's power, but are often no different when they get up? Or why believers can speak in tongues for hours and engage in spiritual warfare for months without making any impact on their society? This stirring book asks the questions you have always wanted to ask and confronts you with answers that could change your life.

Are you a person at peace? If you’re reading this, I’m guessing the answer is no. But most people don’t even know what peace is, why they need it and, most importantly, how to get it. And today, we need it more than ever. This book Untether Your Boat walks you, step by step, through the entire thought process. I’ve loaded it with simple explanations of some pretty complex scientific concepts.

Sailboat Church

- By: Joan S. Gray

Story0
Is your church a rowboat church or a sailboat church? Rowboat churches depend largely on human effort. When church budgets shrink and membership declines, rowboat churches frantically row harder against a current. Sailboat churches, on the other hand, take up the oars, hoist sails, and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them. Arguing that churches should be "sailboats," Joan S. Gray encourages listeners to shift concern from the many daily, practical concerns of their local church to fresh ideas that can be found using the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

More than three billion people in the world have never heard the Gospel - not even once. But who cares? To many American Christians, these statistics about “unreached” people seem too unbelievable to take seriously. How could anyone in this day and age not have heard of Jesus? We assume that people don’t believe in Jesus because they don’t want to - that they’ve had the opportunity and have chosen a different path. We want you to know the people around the world who don’t know Jesus.
