Story
In this candid book based on his own struggle with doubt, John Ortberg traces the line between belief and unbelief and finds that it's less a dividing line between hostile camps than a razor's edge that runs through every soul. His findings point toward the relief of being totally honest. Doubt … Questions … Honest faith … Outrageous hope … It's a chain reaction that can actually strengthen our relationship with God, and that, says Ortberg, is cause for celebration.

Story
I'd Like You More If You Were More like Me takes on one of life's most important questions: How can I get closer to God and other people? We were created for deep connections. When people have deep connections, says John Ortberg, they win in life. When they don't have deep connections, they cannot win in life. I'd Like You More If You Were More like Me offers help in overcoming one of the biggest obstacles to making deep connections: the fact that we're so different. Different from God and different from each other.

Story
Best-selling author John Ortberg dispels the myth that eternal life is something way out in outer space that we can only hope to experience after we die - and that being saved is merely about meeting the minimal entrance requirements for getting into heaven. Instead, John unpacks the reality that the moment we trust Christ, we are initiated into “eternal living” with God as a here and now reality, one that will continue beyond our life on this earth.

Summary
Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus.
In what ways is the Lord telling you, as he did Peter, "Come"?
John Ortberg invites you to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone. Out on the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God. The experience is terrifying. It's thrilling beyond belief. It's everything you'd expect of someone worthy to be called Lord.
The choice is yours to know him as only a water-walker can, aligning yourself with God's purpose for your life in the process. There's just one requirement: If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat.

if you want to walk on water
This book was brilliant. Very inspiring, really made you think about your Christianity. I loved the stories about other peoples lives, I loved the sense of humour. It was good to know that Peter got it wrong but Jesus wasn't angry with him and just encouraged him as he would encourage us through our mistakes. A lovely book, really enjoyed it.

It is an excellent book. It can change people's life. In our life, biggest enemy is fear. It handicapped our talent, intelligent and capability to make achievement in our life. Never fear failure. Failure is the seeds of success. This is what I??ve learnt from the book.

Best 2 hours I've invested in myself
This was the first of many of John Ortberg's books that I have read/listened to. For those not familiar with Ortberg he has a wonderful style of writing that blends humor with the powerful message of the Gospels. This was THE book that launched my business and I am listening to it again for the 3rd time. The term "life changing" has become overused to the point of sounding like so much noise so I will say that if you listen, really listen, you will be transformed and the couple hours will be one of the best investments you could ever make in your life and in knowing the living Christ.

Even better than I expected!
This is one of those just in time books. I couldn't believe how right on target this was for exactly what I was going through at this stage of my life. God is leading me to make a major move 800 miles away. I'm actually excited about the move but the book helped me look at the move with a renewed sense of vigor and calling.
I heartily recommend this book. If you are already stepping out in faith, the book will help you step out even more courageously. If you are reluctant to trust God to sustain you, John will help you gain a new perspective.
Download the book, wait on God's call. Then step out in faith.

WoW!
This book is absolutely what I needed! If you're constantly fooled thinking you're really a man, check out the men of the Word! They sometimes fainted, failed and floundered before they stepped up to be made "authentic" men of God! Ortberg does a marvelous job of displaying Peter as a "go-getter" in today's world of wimps! Go Steve! You're a Blessing to all men who want to face their real fears.
