Czeslaw Milosz, winner of the 1980 Nobel Prize in Literature, was one of the most important poets of the twentieth century. His life spanned the darkest periods of modern history: Nazi occupation, totalitarian rule, and Cold War confrontation. Born in Lithuania in 1911, he witnessed the tragedy of the Warsaw Ghetto and experienced the pain of Poland's partition. In 1951 he chose political exile, abandoning his respectable position as a diplomat to write The Captive Mind in Paris. This groundbreaking book profoundly analyzed how totalitarian systems control the minds of intellectuals, becoming an important weapon against totalitarianism. Later he moved to the United States, teaching at Berkeley for thirty years while persistently writing in Polish. The Swedish Academy praised him for revealing with uncompromising clarity the threats faced by people in a world of severe conflicts. His poetry was simple yet powerful, embodying his belief that the mission of poetry is to witness and to save. Even in the darkest times, he never abandoned conscience and truth. His story reminds us that in any era, maintaining independent thinking and upholding human dignity remain the most precious yet most difficult choices.

Did you know there is a pig that wants to be eaten? Would that change the morality of eating meat? This is not an absurd joke, but a thought experiment designed by British philosopher Julian Baggini to train critical thinking.

Born in nineteen sixty-eight in England, Baggini rejected the traditional academic path and chose to become a translator of philosophy. He co-founded The Philosophers Magazine and published over twenty popular philosophy books, using the simplest language to discuss the most profound questions. His masterpiece, The Pig That Wants to Be Eaten, contains one hundred thought experiments, from the trolley problem to artificial intelligence, training readers in logical thinking through fun scenarios.

Baggini proved that professionalism does not equal obscurity, and depth does not equal boredom. He uses food to discuss ethics and everyday life to explore metaphysics, bringing philosophy from the ivory tower to the coffee shop. His book How the World Thinks breaks away from a Western-centric perspective, exploring the philosophical wisdom of China, India, Japan, and Africa, reminding us that reason has many faces.

In an age of rampant fake news and polarized extreme views, the critical thinking skills Baggini teaches have never been more important. He says: Philosophy is not about giving you answers, but about teaching you how to ask questions. This thinker who brought philosophy to the masses deserves to be known by everyone who wants to think better.

He never received formal design training, yet created a fashion empire that influences the world. His single jacket allowed countless professional women to find the perfect balance between elegance and authority. He is Giorgio Armani, an Italian master who redefined luxury through minimalist aesthetics.

From a window dresser at a Milan department store to a legendary figure in global fashion, Armani's story is filled with persistence and breakthrough. He founded his own brand at age forty-one, yet used revolutionary deconstructivist design to overturn the rigid image of traditional suits. His costume design for the film American Gigolo showed the world a new definition of elegance. His power dressing concept became the uniform for professional women in the 1980s.

At ninety years old, Armani still personally supervises design every day, insisting on brand independence and never compromising for commerce. He says: Fashion fades, style remains. This master spent a lifetime proving that true classics transcend time, and simplicity is the only path to eternity. In this episode of Tribute to the Masters, let us enter Armani's legendary world and see the persistence and wisdom behind fashion.
