• Episode 52: Drowning in Data, Starving For Support
    Jan 26 2026

In this episode, The Stunt Brothers reflect on the growth of their podcast and preview an exciting lineup of upcoming guests, including educators, researchers, authors, and thought leaders from across Canada. The discussion then turns to a deeper theme: the role of data in education. As Roy and Martin draw on personal stories and listener feedback, our hosts question whether data truly supports students and teachers or simply adds stress and drives unhelpful comparisons. They emphasize that data only has value when it leads to meaningful action, resources, and support. This episode encourages educators, parents, and administrators to share their experiences, rethink how success is measured in schools, and focus on what really matters: relationships, learning, well-being, and authentic student growth. And just don't mention the F word!

    Jan 19 2026

Martin and Roy kick things off on one of those cold, rainy, grey days when five degrees or lower means snow is piling up on the North Shore mountains. With the weather closing in and the Christmas holidays behind them, the conversation turns to honest reflections on indulgent eating, missed workouts, and good intentions to get back outside and move more. Things get a little personal when Martin admits that hauling the recording gear up the library stairs felt harder than it should have. That realization leads to a timely field trip to meet Tine Parker, an Olympic sailor, coach, educational leader, and North Vancouver vice-principal whose work with Healthy Futures focuses on physical literacy, healthy eating, and getting kids outdoors. And just maybe, Tina has a few words of advice for our podcasters too.

  • Episode 48: Bonus 4 The Fieldtrip Interviews With Cyndi Gerlach and Clint Johnston
    Dec 29 2025

Roy and Martin wish you the best of the season with another Christmas bonus. These are part of the ongoing bonus series called The Fieldtrip Sessions. Each episode is called The Fieldtrip Interviews and is a remix of two previously released guest interviews. Today's Bonus Episode is a combination of two political guests Roy and Martin had on during Season 1, Trustee Cyndi Gerlach and Clint Johnston, the President of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation.

With their chat with Trustee Gerlach, The Stunt Brothers bring the listeners an exploration of diversity and inclusion in the classroom. This episode will be sure to evoke discussion among all the partner groups who strive to make diversity and inclusion work in today's classroom. Cyndi does not hesitate to answer the tough questions and calls upon her 14 years of experience as a school trustee and many years as a parent of two autistic children. As always, The Stunt Brothers strive to bring all the separate bubbles out there together so that we hear each other, understand each other, and work together to make public education the best it can be.

For the second half of this Bonus Episode, Roy and Martin visit Clint Johnston, Past President of the BC Teachers' Federation and current President of The Canadian Teachers’ Federation. The BCTF represents over 51 000 public school teachers in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Clint has just completed his second term as BCTF President and has now moved to Ottawa to start a new chapter as President of the Canadian Teachers' Federation. He now represents over 370 000 teachers all across Canada. Last May, The Stunt Brothers went on a fieldtrip to sit down with Clint in his Vancouver office. The conversation is deep and revealing and provides insight into leadership, unionism, activism, social justice, and family. Sit down and listen and maybe make yourself a cocktail.
