About this listen

What's the secret to becoming a millionaire?
In The Automatic Millionaire, David Bach shares that secret.
The Automatic Millionaire starts with the powerful story of an average American couple -- he's a low-level manager, she's a beautician -- whose joint income never exceeds $55,000 a year, who somehow manage to own two homes debt-free, put two kids through college, and retire at fifty-five with more than $1 Million in savings. Through their story you'll learn the surprising fact that you cannot get rich with a budget! You must have a plan to pay yourself first that is totally automatic, a plan that will automatically secure your future and pay for your present.
What Makes The Automatic Millionaire Unique:
You don't need to make a lot of money
You don't need a budget
You don't need willpower
You don't need to be that interested in money
You can set up the plan in an hour
This one little audiobook has the power to secure your financial future. Do it once -- the rest is automatic!©2004 David Bach; (P)2004 Simon and Schuster Inc. SOUND IDEAS is an imprint of Simon & Schuster Audio Division, Simon & Schuster Inc.

I love this book. It's old but relevant. It has helped me with my finances.

Great book. The audio version is easy to listen to. American based but very useful & inspirational. I have taken some of the actions recommended in this book already.

I found the advice in this audiobook very good, some bits I was doing already, others I had to start doing. I really like the concept of paying yourself first and how you need to change your mindset about pension plans. I found that really key. the tip about overpaying your mortgage was really good as well. I have already started paying myself-and auto overpaying on my mortgage as a result. I did find the latte effect interesting to hear about, but I don't really have that problem as most days I spend £0 due to having leftover dinner for lunch. I also but myself large packs of green tea from the supermarket which last at least a month so don't really have much room to save in that instance. there are a few things I could probably save on and will do so. but the biggest thing for me was automating payments to remove the temptation of not doing something. I am very good with credit and almost all my loans are 0% for the entire duration of the term, but I recently made a large asset purchase for the new house in solar panels which are already generating money for me, the other was the mortgage. how just slightly changing monthly overpayments can result in such significant savings was really eye opening and whilst I always repay my loans early to save money where they attract interest, the mortgage is a massive one which can be about overwhelming to thing about overpaying on and whether it's worth doing. listening to this left me in no doubts. I will be listening to this with my wife again and going through the reference material attached.

stone really good advice in there
