Summary

“A unique voice on money, one singularly attuned to...his generation.” (San Francisco Chronicle

Buy as many lattes as you want. Spend extravagantly on the things you love. Live your rich life instead of tracking every last expense with Ramit Sethi’s simple, powerful, and effective six-week program for gaining control over your finances.

This isn’t typical advice from a money expert. In this completely updated second edition, Ramit teaches you how to choose long-term investments and the right bank accounts. With his characteristic no-BS perspective, he shows how to squeeze every hidden benefit out of your credit cards. Crush debt and student loans. Learn the exact words to negotiate a raise. Set up an automatic payment system and get on with your life. Plus, new material on overcoming psychological barriers, love and money, new investments options, and real audience stories of how applying Ramit’s principles led to a rich life.

“Don’t let the breezy, irreverent style of this book fool you. It contains serious advice on personal-finance decisions, from budgeting and savings to spending and investing.” (Burton G. Malkiel, author of A Random Walk Down Wall Street)

Very specific for USA

Agree with other comments, contains some good principles and no doubt can be of benefit to anyone looking for help and assistance/motivation in improving their financial situation, but a lot of the specific account advice is only relevant to USA. I've double checked and this is not mentioned in the Audible review, should really be included.

There are far better books

I was disappointed with this book. Very basic and states the obvious. May be useful information for a student fresh out of university/college.

Very basic - Ramit I was expecting more

I have been following Ramit for at least 5-6 years. Good understanding on his philosophy, but I was expecting adv version of IWTYtBR, but instead we got just updated version of the first book.
Funny perhaps how many people would still have to listen to that!

Clear game plan

This was a great book! I have been researching the FIRE community and personal finance in general. This book gives some good advice that is in line with Dave Ramsey and other finance personas. But I like some of the different directions he suggest for savings, investments and perspective on spending. I’d recommend this book for someone who is looking to start their journey into personal finance but wants something that is easy to understand.

Delivers What It Promises!

This is a great personal finance book for a number of reasons - it covers all the major areas of personal finance, it’s simple, and most importantly it cuts through all the BS. If you are going to read only one personal finance book, make this the one!

Very specific for USA

The book gives great advice, but it is very USA-specific. Although with some care, main concepts can be applied internationally.

NO, IF YOU ARE OLDER OR LOOKING BEYOND BASICS

I was many chapters in waiting to learn something new that I wasn't already doing to some degree. Finally, he mentions that this book is for those who are younger. That's how you get rich...start young. I'm going to listen to the end but it's hard because I'm hearing about tactics and strategies I am familiar with for an extended amount of time.

Welcome to the rich life! ...and how to get there!

Ramit's update to his awesome book! It's well worth the read, as the info is better than the last! This book will have you laughing all the way to the bank as you start implementing his awesome six steps. I like his advice on capturing the big things, like saving thousands on a mortgage by having a great credit score, as opposed to pinching pennies by cutting out your lattes! Its a great listen, and everyone need to know this stuff, regardless of your financial situation!

Highly actionable book and highly recommended!

This book helped me to build on an already good foundation of personal finance knowledge. I also liked Ramit's casual, and at times vulgar, delivery. This book will pay for itself hundreds of times over.

Only if he could stop putting his emailers’ feedback!!

This book is full of his emailers feedback and many many ‘I will teach you how’. Get to the point already.

Great Book, Better Audible

Content itself was amazing. Even better was that each of the chapters had an actual name unlike other audible books.
