Summary
With his expert teachings, philosophical insights, and pragmatic imagery, world-class yoga instructor Tias Little turns the anatomy of the physical body into a tool for navigating the subtle body.
If you spend considerable time doing yoga, you begin to see that it is about much more than just the body - the practice of yoga in fact reveals that the body is in no way separate from the pyschospiritual forces that animate it. Tias Little here provides a way to understand these forces as they relate to an integrated yoga of body, mind, and spirit. He unites somatic concepts and wisdom teachings in this practical guide to the anatomy of the physical, mental, emotional, and subtle (or energetic) body.
Little is a master teacher who offers us a guided tour of the body's structure and physical anatomy, then uses this new structural awareness as the basis for exploring the subtle body. In a meaningful and pragmatic way, the book maps the connection between the body and the rich symbolism that pervades the yogic imagination, including the chakras, nadis, and koshas. Further, Little offers listeners clear, insightful yoga, pranayama, and meditation exercises that apply these body-mind principles.

great book, dire narratikn
the book itself is a masterpiece, full of detailed information and helpful practical exercise. unfortunately the narration is awful! it is laboriously read as if it were a story - very forced and very confusing when the material is actually informative, not fantastical... the narration makes the material harder to follow and understand. i have persevered puerly because i bave the physical book by my side and use tne narration only to lead me do the the practical exercises.
it would be wonderful to hear the author himself lead one through the book!

Dreadful vocal presentation
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Tiffany Morgan's voice is dreadful and detracted from my appreciating the content of the book. Far too much contrived inauthentic convoluted vocal twisting. I find the way in which the interesting text is distorted by the voice of the speaker detracts from appreciating and enjoying the book. It sounded like an actress at work rather than an honest investigation.

Great Content - Strange Narration
This work is for a very specific audience - and the content is wonderful. I am learning a lot and am grateful for the teachings of Tias Little in general.
I have found the narration of this work to be very distracting. The narrator places emphasis on words in a rather strange way and some terminology is inaccurately pronounced. It sounds as though the narrator had not previously read the work prior to recording and so consequently, there is an odd pace to the narration.
This may be a very personal preference and I am very grateful that this audiobook is available but have had to try to 'manage' my frustration at times when listening - which I feel is a great shame, given the quality of expertise shared by the author.

I really want to get through this book but the narrator was poorly chosen. I wish Tias Little had narrated it himself, it would have conveyed the material with more understanding. So many mispronunciations and there’s a strange intonation throughout. I feel like they chose someone with a false “sexy yoga teacher” voice. Whhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

An important text on Yoga
Yoga of the subtle body by Tias Little is a rich and profound text on yoga practice and philosophy. In my humble opinion, this text is as important as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The author describes several important aspects of Chakras, Nadis, bandhas and Prana. Connects these concepts with the physiology of the gross and subtle body, and recommending a practice at the end of each topic. I purchased the Audible version and was so impressed that I purchased a paper copy as well. I would highly recommend this book to every yoga teacher and student who would like to move beyond their physical practice into the yoga of the subtle body.

Rampant Mispronunciation of Key Terms, ugh
Tias Little's brilliant and essential text is done such a disservice by the poorly edited narration. There seems to have been no quality control on pronunciation. The text, while accessible to any audience, is an invaluable teachers' resource, No teacher (or even Hindi speaker) will be able to stand how Sanskrit names for poses are invariably mispronounced, or variably pronounced, and in many cases are just completely incorrect. Medical terms in other languages including English are mispronounced as well. I don't see this as the fault of the narrator (though I agree with others that I would have preferred to hear the author's voice) -- but rather of Audible's negligence in editing the narration for mistakes. It's really shameful that such a seminal text would get such shoddy treatment by Audible.

Brilliant book but terrible narration!
I have study with Tias Little forover15 years. This book is a brilliant compilation of all of his studies and experience with Yoga and the human body. It’s a must for any yoga teacher or serious practitioner. That said, Audible chose not to have the author read the book but chose someone that really is not familiar with Yoga. The end result is disappointing. She frequently mispronounces Sanskrit words and sometimes anatomical terms. Listening the book is helpful but I definitely recommend getting the hardcopy!

Great Book, Not so Great Reader
This book is full of valuable information. I will be purchasing a hard copy. The narrated version of this book, however, was terrible. The reader mispronounces so many words, not just Sanskrit, but other words as well. I wish they could get the author or Nickolai Bachman to read the book.
