Summary

From New York Times best-selling author J. Daniels comes a sexy new stand-alone novel.

Riley Tennyson has made a huge mistake.

At least that's what she keeps telling herself.

Showing up to her brother's wedding pissed off and newly single, Riley seeks comfort in solitude and an open bar...until the gorgeous and irresistibly charming CJ Tully makes her a better offer - a wild night with the master of smooth-talking where nothing is off limits.

Riley does what any single woman would do, and a connection is made. One neither one of them can ignore. But when she comes home to the boyfriend she no longer thought she had, Riley buries her secret and begs CJ to do the same.

Forget about each other. It was a mistake. That's all it was...right?

Desires are hidden. Distance is kept. Until one night CJ makes the ultimate sacrifice, and Riley can no longer avoid the man she can't stop thinking about.

Not with him sleeping down the hall.

Great Sexy, Feel Good Romance!

Great feel good sexy book! I really enjoyed this book. The characters were realistic, funny and the sex scenes were very hot! I love a good guy in my romance books so CJ had me from the beginning. I really liked the relationship between these too, it was new and exciting, they were sweet, cute and they couldn't keep their hands off each other. The drama was very low which was another huge plus for me.

The narration was perfect! Stella Bloom was perfect with the southern accent!
Highly recommend if your looking for your next sexy feel good romance!!

CJ is the man!

Writing style: Dual POVs

Cover and chapter design: I like this cover, but I especially love the chapter POV design graphic that matches it.

Dual format read – Yes or No?: Yes! Audiobook was my primary format, but I bookmarked and highlighted a few scenes in my e-book copy as well.

Stella and Eric make a very dynamic narrating duo. I’m still loving their voice acting choices especially Eric’s for little Noah.

My favorite thing about this 5th installment in the Alabama Summers series is CJ’s views on how a man treats a woman he’s dating. Nolan stole the show again. I couldn’t help but grin anytime he popped up in a scene. The fact that he already has a little girlfriend was too cute.

One of my favorite scenes was when Reed threatens CJ after CJ confessed how he really felt about Riley. I loved that Reed could laughingly concede he’d at least throw something at those big muscles of CJ’s in Riley’s honor if CJ broke her heart. I’m sure that won’t be necessary luckily for them both, ha!

Coming up next text:
CJ’s brother Jake is apparently getting his own story in Say I'm Yours (Alabama Summer, #6). The release date is still to be confirmed, but I would definitely want to read it in dual formats (primarily via audiobook format) again. My ears will be super happy if audiobook narrators Stella Bloom and Eric Michael Summerer return with their consistently fantastic voice acting.

Would have been great with a different h

Does no one else hate Riley? She was the absolute worst and CJ deserved better. CJ and the narrators saved this story. If not for that, I would not have finished this book.

Another great addition to the series

CJ is currently my fav Bama boy from this series, Easy going, fun, and patient. I like the character of Riley ( quirky, sassy, and fun) but had a difficult time understanding her need to lie to her brother about who she was dating. Who the h*ll needs their brothers approval? She's an adult for Christ sake! Overall I enjoyed this book, lots of funny moments ( ie.. girls night). Great chemistry between the main characters and really enjoyed the fact that all the previous characters were involved in this storyline. Hope we get to find out what happens to these characters in a future book.

Riley and CJ

Riley thinks its over with her dead-beat boyfriend, so she hooks up with her brother Reece's friend CJ at her brother's wedding. But before things aren't what they seem and plans go awry for them. Riley's character is young and naive, and it definitely shows in how she handles things. CJ is patient to a point, and uses that patience to wait for Riley. I feel their story was good, but just not great. I liked the rescue elements and the build of their relationship, but I just felt there could have been more depth to it...especially with CJ character. Overall, I did enjoy it and loved listening to the audiobook. The continuing use of Stella Bloom and Eric Michael Summerer have been a good choice in the series.

Dumb heroine but smart and sexy hero

I loved the hero in this story but the heroine was so dumb and immature. Thanks goodness for the hero, he balanced the chemistry between his “ darlin”. I usually do not continue when the heroine is dumb and immature. Eric and Stella were the readers that kept me listening. I did like it when the story unfolds. After half way through the story, I find myself smiling. If you decide to listen, enjoy!

Perfect

Those hot alpha police officers are making melt. Each one sweeter than the previous one. CJ & Riley’s story is beautiful. I love the relationship between them started as friends and they ended up falling in love. Absolutely beautiful story.

Secret romance. 1POV. HEA. Standalone.

This is a “hot damn” romance with angst. It’s a somewhat easy listen. The narration is great. The HEA is short but sweet. This can be listened as a standalone but there are several books previous to this.
