Summary

When Flannery’s scholarship disappears, she’ll do whatever it takes to stay in school. Even if it means selling her virginity.

Flannery dreams of a life better than her mother’s. So when her hard-earned scholarship funds get embezzled, there’s no way she’s going home. Even if that means selling her virginity to the highest bidder.

The only thing holding her back is Cain, her perfect boyfriend who has no idea what it’s like to struggle financially. Finding out the girl he loves is willing to give her virginity away might be too much for even him to get past.

When the winning bid comes in and Cain finds out, Flannery must convince him that this is her only chance to stay in school otherwise she’ll have to give up her dream.

Is selling her virginity to a stranger something Cain can forgive, or will doing what it takes to achieve her dream cost her the man she loves?

Flannery & Cain

Heather Young Nichols has a way of finding that special niche between characters. She does this with Flannery and Cain. Cain is a popular soccer player, and can have any girl he wants. Flannery is ordinary, but she catches his eye. The two are passionate, but Flannery is inexperienced. When she finds out her scholarship is in jeopardy, the one thing she can sell to stay in school is the one thing that is meant for Cain. Will these two find a way to work through their issues? While not the way I would choose to stay in school, I could feel the desperation Flannery had. She had goals, knew what she wanted to be, and was desperate to get there. Cain is the most understanding man with a fabulous family. Parts were not quite believable, but I enjoyed the chemistry and dynamics of the story.

Lacey Gilleran brings a new voice to my ears, and she perfectly fits the new adult trope. Easy to listen to, just the right amount of angst and a good pace, she gave me an enjoyable listen.

Cute book, get ready to suspend disbelief

I thought this was a cute book and I definitely understand that people do crazy things to try to fix a difficult situation. Flannery wants to stay at school and doesn't have the funds so she wants to sell her virginity. The only issue? She's in a relationship with Cain. The worst part is that Cain was so amazing and sweet, caring and always looking after her. And as someone who absolutely hates cheating (and yes, I define this as a form of cheating), I was a little uncomfortable but hey, I knew this about the book going in. This is where suspended disbelief comes in- it's a romance novel and we know the HEA is coming. So, overall, it was a cute story.

Lacey did a great job with the narration- I listen to my audiobooks at a fast clip (1.5) and it still sounded very natural and she did a good job differentiating between voices. I enjoyed the narration.

I requested and received this audiobook and this is my honest review.

It's hot in here.

Wow loved the audiobook it was a lingering on, on the spicy side of the sexual activities. The twists and turns, rollercoaster ride of emotions, with betrayal for the lovely encounter of bliss. But does it last.
The narrator was clearly spoken and easy to understand.
