Summary
The Navy SEALs have been fighting terrorists around the world for over a decade. And for all that time, the Bandito Platoon SEALS from SEAL Team Seven have been on continuous combat rotation. Now they have drawn a shipboard assignment off Central America - an easy day.
But for a Navy SEAL, the only easy day was yesterday.
In a powerful story of global anti-terrorism inspired by real life missions, Act of Valor combines stunning combat scenes, up-to-the-minute battlefield technology, and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure.
Act of Valor takes you deep into the secretive world of today’s most elite, highly trained group of warriors. When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the United States, a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitments to country, team, and their families back home.
But each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border - where they engage in an epic firefight with potentially unimaginable consequences for America…

I know loads of people who think tom Clancy is action story god, but I found this uninspiring some interesting ideas and good character details (too much for my liking) probably make a good film if you just did the action bits

Thought provoking and emotional experience.
Detailed informative and accurate depiction of the damgerous work those who serve undertake. The professionalism and dedication of the elite will inspire you but you must listen right the end to comprehend the full meaning of this book.
Remembrance day has a new meaning for me. Every day good people and their families pay the highest price to maintain our security and values. Thank you to all the services, specially the front line individuals and the writers of this book for reminding me of the daily struggle to maintain peace and the law. I couldn't help to be inspired to live bravely and appreciate safe society I live in.

Thoroughly gripping story!
One of those ‘can’t put down’ books. All characters were well written and the equipment very well researched. The story made you feel that you were part of the team. Another great book from the author!

Gripping throughout
Not my normal read but anxious as to whether the next book I read will live up to this one! Left emotional towards the end it grabs you throughout!

Looking for 2 grains in a bushel of chaff
The point of this book appears to be to show how badass the navy seals are. Their wives and children too. We are reminded about this opinion ad nauseum, almost like propaganda, rather than shown how this is so through the story. Quite likely, the navy seals are amazing, brave people but the book, well, was weak.

Awfull
Can’t say I was at all impressed with the writing seemed to have a lot of padding, technical detail not required to help the story and overall poor
