Summary

The heart of a hero.

In the wilds of a jungle planet, the Legion fights in brutal combat as Republic marines fly their SLICS from one tragedy to the next.

H292, a repurposed warbot, shows the heart of a hero as he wades into the battle not to destroy - but to save.

Just a tool

Short, simple, superb and strangely emotional.
This is a prequel to the excellent Galaxy''s Edge series and gives background to the character KRS88.
Read by the fine voice actor, R.C.Bray
Highly recommended

Omfg. I got serious feelz from this one

Right. Being a tight so and so I did not want to spend a credit on a short story. So when audible gave it for free I was happy to catch up being such a huge GE fan.

No spoilers. But if I ever wondered if I could really love a robot, the answer is yes. Yes yes yes

A great telling and great story.

I really like how they went into the story of a character who you wouldn’t really expect to enjoy.

Excellent Short Story

More enjoyable than I expected and dare I write emotive.
'Tin Man' shame there weren't more stories to expect with him but the short story has peaked my interest in Galaxy's Edge series. R. C Bray on point as always (quietly hoped for a Blooper Reel but it may have taken from the story so understand why not included)
Worth the small price,

Short and sweet, but a thing of beauty...Go Crash!

I've read all of the other parts of the Galaxy's edge series, Just listened to this while mowing the lawn...Loved it. Great to get Crash's back-story. Almost got a bit emotional :)… And thanks as ever to RCB for an outstanding read... You the Man!

Good little short story

Covers some interesting ideas about the nature of sacrifice, AI self-awareness and perception.

RC Bray’s narration carries it's usual panache.

Surprisingly good

I was not sure what to expect with this short story, it was poignant.
I recommend it and I will now listen to the later stories in this series, if they are as good as this, I am going to have a few enjoyable weeks ahead listening to them.

So cool

Another loose end from the main story ark tied up in remarkable fashion. You need to listen to the main stories first.

Beware of onion cutting ninjas while reading...

I never thought I could feel so much emotion over a murderous war bot but here I am.

A must for any Galaxy's Edge fan.

I'm as hard as they come, and it brought a tear and a smile.

A war bot with heart!

Science fiction is far from my favorite genre, but this short story is special. Having R.C. Bray narrate it makes it even more special. This one is a must listen.

BRINGS A TEAR TO THE EYE

As a Marine Combat Vet who can not forget the math of war either, Anspach and Cole nail down what so many of us wish was possible. To erase those memories and end the sleepless nights.

From a Newcomer to the Series

This was my first exposure to the Galaxy's Edge universe and, I must say, this was a great story. Great narration and writing. The Tin Man's story is very touching
