Summary

Warrior. Slave. Survivor. Emperor.

As a crumbling Galactic Republic falls to the relentless assault of a merciless foe, so begins the rise of an enigmatic emperor intent on saving a corrupt galaxy-spanning civilization from itself… and from something much darker that lies beyond the reaches of the known.

Just as the reins of power fall into his iron-fisted grasp, an assassination attempt by a hidden cabal within his own inner circle jeopardizes every plan he has set in motion for his Dark Legion, his Imperial Navy, and his ultimate conquest of the stars. But the assassins have no idea who they are actually dealing with…or what he has become.

Imperator is a darkly heroic epic that spans the boundaries of time, space, friendship, and one man’s quest for a power that never should have been found.

A brilliant homage to star wars with it's own spin

it's star wars if Lucas had been Tarantino. So much more engaging than anything Disney has done with Space opera in years. The homage to star wars is brilliant with sometimes cliched but always fun books, this being a great back story to a key player or two.

I want more of this series, it has great potential to be the space opera we have been after for years.

It up and I the standards of the first 3 books.

Found this going all over the place and it didn’t feel no where as good as the last 3 books...saying that it’s a must listen to as it’s got a lot of back story which fills in the blanks.

jumpy narrative and sometimes hard to follow

This book lays a lot of context for the Galaxy's Edge series but it's written in a very confusing Style. There is no single timeline in the book but rather three or four separate timelines all being described in parallel, this doesn't lend itself very well to an audiobook format. As usual RC Bray is brilliant and the book is entertaining when you can lock onto a single narrative but the jumpiness and lots of cliches made it hard to finish.

Superb Sci-Fi storytelling!

I am so excited for the next book! These guys are making me very happy! I want more and more. I hope the next book is 64 hours long. I love the different perspectives and timelines. They delve into their characters and infuse them with a robustness that takes your imagination on a fast paced action packed adventure. It’s is dark, sometimes creepy but also appears solid and fact based. Keep weaving this galactic tapestry, please. Thank you to R.C.,your voice helps bring this universe to life for me. You are one of my favorite narrators.

So hard to follow the storyline.

I have read or listened to all of the Galaxy’s Edge books and this one is by far the worst. It’s very hard to follow if it’s a flashback or in the present. The story was clearly written for the screen and not a book.

Reminds me of a Rat Rod

I bought this owing to R C Bray doing the reading and I’ remain impressed. As to the story, as my subject line states, this story kept reminding that it’s analogous to a Rat Rod vehicle. Rat Rods work well when new but still look like a bunch of junk thrown together. The entirely to frequent jumps between memories became too hard to follow; I lost interest.

love galaxys edge

I basically fell in love with the galaxys edge series if the author can read this your series is like a mix of star wars and warhammer 40k, of both universes that I have read a lot into and I find myself craving more from the universe of the legion, tyrus rechs, wraith, and all of it. it's a perfect mix for vets who have seen combat and love sci-fi and science fantasy

Profound

This third book was a really great read. With some profound revelations that made sense about a lot of things leading up to the “present”

This book is a stunning piece of art.

I will tell you nothing, you will simply have to listen to this gem of a book and allow yourself to be taken into the not to distant future and then to the many eons beyond that.

Solid Back Story

Good addition to the Galaxy’s Edge series. It left me wanting to start the next installation in the series right away. If you want to understand the Goth Sulus jump in and enjoy.
