Summary

A man awakens, adrift in deep space, with little memory of who he is - only to discover that he is the commander of a space mission; the rest of the crew is gone; and he is apparently a writer of some small renown named Neil Gaiman.

The Neil Gaiman at the End of the Universe is perfect for fans of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Black Mirror. It stars Neil Gaiman as... well, you know, and Jewel Staite (Firefly; Stargate Atlantis), and is written by Arvind Ethan David, executive producer of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Please note: Proceeds obtained by the producer from sales of this audio project will benefit This Is My Brave, a nonprofit organization that seeks to break the stigma of mental illness, alcoholism and substance abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and more through the power of live storytelling.

Love this

Such a lovely short story, beautifully performed by Neil Gaiman and Jewel Staite. Even included a nod to Firefly. Highly recommend.

Book friends never let you down

I loved the story! It spoke to me in the best of ways, as I am one of those people who find refuge and comfort in stories, who love the escapism that books offer. I'm a compulsive book hoarder and reader, but after a sleepless night binge on a good book, or a two-three-day disconnect "far crom the madding crowd" and "down the rabbit hole" of book worlds, I can return balanced, and energized, and happier... and so happy that this is my drug of choice!

A really fun listen

You can tell from the title of the story that this is a tale which does not take itself too seriously. It's a fun romp that reminded me of Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary at first - although this impression did not last for reasons I won't give away. I love the fact that Neil Gaiman agreed to narrate this, especially given the title. No other narrator would have been better suited to the job in this case. So if you're looking for a short piece of light-weight sci-fi that doesn't take itself too seriously, while being seriously fun, this should be right up your alley.

Nice short story for Neil Gaimen fans

I enjoyed the idea behind this short story and all the references to Neil's books. Wouldn't have spent a credit on it but happy to listen as part of Plus Catalogue

An interesting concept with funny insights.

I enjoyed this audiobook. It's short enough to be bite-sized and isn't a huge commitment and as a result I approached it not expecting great things. the quality of the performance and recording is very good. I enjoyed it.
