Summary

Book 5 of The End Times

Archaon Everchosen marches on the city of Middenheim. The last heroes of men, elves and dwarfs gather to stop him, but to stand against the hordes of the Ruinous Powers, they must turn to darker allies…

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a bleak and tragic – and thoroughly epic and enjoyable – look at the final days of the Warhammer World and the heroes and villains who fought to save or damn it.

THE STORY

The End Times have come. Archaon Everchosen marches on the city of Middenheim – if he captures it, the key to the Chaos Gods' ultimate victory will be his. The last heroes of men, elves and dwarfs gather to stop him, but to stand against the hordes of the Ruinous Powers, they must turn to darker allies. Against all reason, the last hope for the world may be the Undying King, Nagash himself – if he and the mortal races can find a common cause and work together. If they cannot, Archaon's plan will come to fruition, and Chaos will consume the world.

the best of the endtimes

Captivating. The last battle of each and every hero is epic and yet doomed. Good closure

Great ending to a great world.

Amazing story to finish a world. Sometimes a world has to burn for a new one to be born.

So it Ends!

This is the final novel of the most controversial and disliked event in Warhammer Fantasy.

I loved it. it's heartbreaking, stupid and rushed.

Archaon has come and the Power of Chaos will not be denied this time.

The final novel before Age of Sigmar.

A great ending

Years ago when the cancelled WFB I was so sad as I loved the world. I have to give GW credit though they really sent it out with a bang. Special mention to my boy Brunner the bounty hunter.

OhMahGAWDAMN! THIS IS SO GOOD!

I Remeber the time of the endtimes and the HORRIBLRE injustice it got and the extremely mean, offputting, hateful behaviour oozing out of hatesorce these types of people usually learn everything from. Then there were all the arm-chair "specialist" that told me in great detail for why their bias oppinions wass deffinitly backed by facts and were the only locical ones.

SO! I pushed Endtimes and all Age od Sigmar stuff because, It was "SO BAD..."
But the truth is in the pudding, Gamesworkhop under stand their own lore and write it better than any of these nay sayers. If you were one of these people back then. Hating this amazing work of art. Then you should take a hard long look in the mirror and maybe re think a few things.
It is fucking fantastic and a true work of wonder. Will listen to it many, mnay times more.

The narrator was amazing, however the story breaks my heart. Killing off the old world and part of my childhood with it.

Good to Stumbled upon

I came in to this thinking this was sthe origin story of Archaon and only found out while looking for more Warhammer books in fantasy aside from Gotrek and Felix that this was the final book of Warhammer fantasy so I should not be too judgemental due to the fact I had not read the other 4 books beforehand in the series that being said I was pleasant surprised at how much context it gives despite not having read any of the books in the series of chronicals. I have heard a lot of bad things about the end times books and I can see why long time fans would be frustrated and angry at the stories. I myself haven't been a fan for very long, only a couple of years but I still really enjoy the world so I already knew what was gonna happen in the end. Is it as bad as everyone said it was? Certainly not but again, I haven't been around since the beginning of the world of Warhammer fantasy and I stumbled upon this with the credit I have. Is it the worst book I have read in fantasy so far? Maybe. It certainly is the one I have given the lowest rating so far but I enjoyed my time despite happening on it by chance and I am glad I have read it and will read the other books in order this time
