Story
The last thing Sanda remembers is her gunship exploding. She expected to be recovered by salvage medics and to awaken in friendly hands, patched up and ready to rejoin the fight. Instead she wakes up 230 years later, on a deserted enemy starship called The Light of Berossus - or, as he prefers to call himself, 'Bero'. Bero tells Sanda the war is lost. That the entire star system is dead. But is that the full story? After all, in the vastness of space, anything is possible.

Summary
The End was just the beginning of the new world…
Only six weeks have passed since a super-EMP attack devastated the United States, but already, life has changed dramatically. Most of America has become a wasteland filled with starving bands of people, mobs and gangs. Millions are dead and millions more are suffering, with no end in sight.
For Gordon, Samantha, Sebastian, Cruz, and Barone, the turmoil and chaos they dealt with in the early weeks after the attack will seem trivial in comparison to the collapse of society that plays out before their eyes. Uncertainty abounds as they all travel different paths in search of a safe place to call home. The only thing that is definite is that The Long Road will take its toll on all of them.

Change narrator
The delivery of the story is very much in the style of someone reading the book themselves, With no thought to spacing or change in tone between characters.

What disappointed you about The Long Road - A Post Apocalyptic Novel?
I don't know what they were thinking. It was like listening to a speed reader. I couldn't listen to the whole book. Can't believe I paid for this one too.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Joseph Morton?
Toby Leonard Moore

Too many Cliches!
I cannot understand how this book gets a good review from anybody - one bad cliche after another, poor writing, no, terrible writing. Good narration. Sentence after sentence that does not logically follow the one before it. No character development at all. The head of the the drug cartel is described as "deciding he would not be poor, and soon he became the go to guy for people to get anything they want" done - total character development. I tried to like this book because I like the genre, impossible, it is a bad book and nothing redeems it.
Not recommended, not one second of it.

I am glad I waited it out! Not to be disappointed!
If you could sum up The Long Road - A Post Apocalyptic Novel in three words, what would they be?
A great story leading into another story. I love this series.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator started off reading this book really fast. Just as I was irritated and almost put it down the problem was fixed and it became the enjoyable read just I was hoping for, as the first book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Story made me laugh and cry as I grew attached to the characters
Any additional comments?
I couldnt wait for the next book! Was not disappointed by this book at all. I am glad that the initial issue of the narrator reading too fast was fixed. I recommend this book and the entire series!

The top of my list
What did you love best about The Long Road - A Post Apocalyptic Novel?
For those who enjoy a vivid apocalyptic survival based journey you will not be disappointed, but CAUTION - YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF SLEEP. This story, books one and two, my fellow end of times story seekers, took me on a vividly written and narrated journey that started when I hit the play button and ended when the nice man from Audible thank me for my purchase. To the person who masterfully describe ever evolving happiness, sadness, hopefulness, disparity, anger, and compassion thank you and very nicely done you incredible word putter together-er!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I can't, too many to list.
Which character – as performed by Joseph Morton – was your favorite?
All around good job.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Book two, father faces the unthinkable.
Any additional comments?
Please hurry with book 3!

Great Story
There was 1 incredibly annoying part that just about ruined the book, I only hope book 3 justifies it. If not, then this would be the first time i ever read a book with such rich opportunities be ruined by the actions in 1 paragraph.

I liked the book
I think the book could've been a lot better. U wasted 8 hours having ur characters travel about 200 miles. Also ur main character is very weak and makes a lot of bad decisions to be an ex Marine. Marines are some of the most highly trained soldiers on this earth i don't think a real trained Marine would've made half the number of mistakes, and while I am aware that know one is perfect ur main character is far from what u would consider a real Marine to be.
