Summary

The spectacular standalone thriller from the author of the critically acclaimed Frankie Sheehan novels.

It all started to go wrong the day the Wrights moved in next door.

Myles and Lana Butler live on a gorgeous new development in Wimbledon, leaning on a mortgage that is just within reach. When one of Myles' investments fails they are bound to lose everything.

Gabriel and Holly Wright have just moved in next door. The Wrights are sophisticated, ambitious and apparently very wealthy. At an after-dinner drink with their new neighbours, Myles and Lana share their worries and a solution is suggested between the couples. Life Insurance fraud. For a cut of the pay out, the Wrights would help them.

No one thought they were being serious. No one agreed they'd actually go through with it. And no one mentioned it would involve murder.

Then, one night, Lana doesn't come home.

Critic reviews

The End of Us is exactly the type of book I love to read: witty, dark, unpredictable, well-written and with great insight into the darker side of human nature. A book to be devoured in one sitting (Karen Hamilton)
I loved it - easily Kiernan's best yet (Cara Hunter)
I loved everything about this stylish, addictive thriller from Olivia Kiernan. The End of Us entertains, it shocks, and it asks fascinating moral questions of its characters - and readers (my sympathies and allegiances were all over the place!) Beautifully written, masterfully executed. And THAT ending . . . (Caz Frear)

unusual story

kept one guessing although the end also asks what happened next? Very good narration and will read more by this author.

Really poor on all fronts, fail to understand posi

Wanted to enjoy this book based on the reviews. But Plot holes from the beginning, highly improbable, poorly narrated.

Entertaining enough

To enjoy this you need to be able to overlook some major plot holes. The narration is first class. The book is more than OK but not amazing. I wanted a bit more from the ending but it’s not a bad ending - just for me a bit limp.

Good listen

Really enjoyed the progress through the book, well written and the narrator really good. Didn’t like the ending at all, too abrupt, almost as if the author got a bit bored and went off for a coffee!

Excellent book and well narrated I couldn’t stop listening

This was very well written - and the story and plot were spot on - what a twist at the end.

Kept me listening

Fast paced story. Pretty entertaining and kept me listening. Narration a little flat for me but didn’t spoil the experience .

Interesting plot with many twists and turns!

I liked the storyline and the narrator. The psychology of the main character was interesting with little hints of his true character from the beginning.
