Once again Nigel Slater triumphs .
A delicious absorbing listen .
I found extra reasons to go out in my car so that I could luxuriate in listening to each pages over and over again .
It's like sitting with a dear friend sharing memories and a few grumps among the charming shopping in markets and warm kitchen cookery , even before actually eating a single morsel ..
One thing though , A166 page PDF , No Index !

A wonderful book brilliantly told!
A truly heart warming and comforting book. Wonderful stories and traditions around Christmas with truly mouthwatering dishes. Nigel tells the story rather than reads a book. It sometimes transports you into his house and you imagine he cooks and serves food for you. This book will be listened by me time and time again. Absolutely brilliant !!

A softly sparkling Hygge delight
Nigel Slater evokes a magical, frosted world of Christmas tradition. With references to folklore and fairytales, recipes and recommendations for Christmas markets and stores, you are transported to a gentler world of candlelight and jewel-bright treats. I have a copy of the beautiful hardback book, but sometimes it's preferable to close your eyes and allow yourself to be transported to another time and place.
A comfort reading/listening treat indeed.
