It was the BWWM romance that was never really meant to happen. But it did....

When Aleisha Kingston, an African-American single mother of twins, landed a job as an associate in New York City, she felt like her dreams were finally starting to come true.

Then her boss, Kyle Drake, walked into the room and she had confirmation that things really were looking good.

And when sparks started flying between the two of them, they both soon discovered just how much passion there was beneath their cool professional exteriors.

But could two people from such wildly different backgrounds ever last in the long term? Especially when dark family secrets emerge and shocking truths begin to come to light....

Chemistry at its hottest!

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book from start to finish on a long drive! It is not what you would expect out of a typical love story! The Chemistry between Aieisha and Kyle is absolutely electric. Aleisha is torn between love and professionalism with a few twists that I certainly didn't expect. I would suggest this audiobook to anyone who loves a good romance story!

Why is this incomplete?

his is one of my random picks. The synopsis sounded interesting to me so I chose this book unfortunately for me the narrator was no the best. I have listened to ALL kinds of books and a narrator can make or break the book and this narrator was very close top breaking this book for me. The narrator was very monotone and everyone sounded the same be it a man or a woman. I almost gave up but I powered through.

This story was a bit confusing. There were surprises but there was also unnecessary people involved within this story. Take for instant Aleisha's ex, he was not needed in this book but yet the author chose to add him for drama that was not needed. She also wrote him in a way where every time he showed up I assumed he was going to hit Aleisha or do something reckless like kidnap the babies. He was written as unhinged but not completely.

This book just seemed as though it was unfinished and there needed more. Maybe more of a background and not such a hurried ending. I would have believed the ending more if there was just something that tied everything full circled. There are just so many threads that me left unfinished that this book completely annoyed me. It is not a bad book just incomplete.
