About this listen

A bittersweet and irresistible love story, in the tradition of The Notebook and the classic Love Story from the bestselling author.

Book editor Katie is in love with poet, Matt Harrison. He seems to share her feelings, but his refusal to talk about his past makes her suspicious. All she knows is that Matt was once married. One evening, he suddenly ends their relationship, leaving Katie devastated. A few days later, he sends her a notebook that he promises will explain everything. Katie opens the book to find it is the diary that Matt's wife, Suzanne, wrote for their baby son. It tells the story of her love for Matt and Nicholas, and reveals the tragedy that haunts Matt's life today. And Katie realises he needs her to understand his past if she is ever to be a part of his future.

A simple story (obviously for a normal James Patterson style twist) but a real feel good book that always lifts my mood.

An old favourite

For most of this book i was just getting frustrated, it’s annoyingly cheesy and slow going. Overall it is a sweet story, but not really my kind story.

Not what I expected, too cheesy for me

Would you consider the audio edition of Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas to be better than the print version?

The audio really helped the characters come a life, brought real depth to them

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Suzanne, she had a really thirst to keep going and endless love

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When you read Matts letter at the back and the pitcher cleare

Any additional comments?

Didn't want the book to end

After my whirl with a very scary audiobook I needed a little schmaltzy comfort.
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas was the audiobook equivalent of Ben and Jerry's in your pyjamas.

It was therapeutic, easy to listen to, enjoyable, well narrated.
The characters are so likeable and so well enacted but Becky Baker. My only frustration is the music that the producers have snuck in at particularly critical points. For me it took away from the audiobook rather than adding to it as the music sounded dated (and it was a step too far into the schmaltzy!)

This was a perfect 'weekender' audiobook. Very enjoyable.

An Alternative 'Notebook'

it's written in a lovely way, soft and gentle story. Is realistic in parts, but too cheesy for me. I did cry however.
