"I've awakened in a stone box about the size of a large coffin.... I'm filthy, everything aches, and, by the various so-called gods, I smell awful. I've woken up in worse places. Hmm. What does that say about my life choices?" (Eric, amateur magician, part-time vampire, and accidental king)
It's not easy being king. Especially when you've got an allergy to sunrise and sunset, a fire goddess for a mother-in-law, demonic adversaries, random assassins, and a basement full of insecurities to cope with. Add to that his daughter, the fire priestess/princess; a couple of lightly deranged professional magicians; a whole city full of wizards; and enough squabbling princes to resemble a kindergarten argument. It's enough to make a man want to just go home. Luckily for Eric, he has the world's fastest pet rock, a smart-mouthed sword, and a horse that not only understands him but likes him anyway.

Would you listen to Nightlord again? Why?
Yes, it is very entertaining, the performance and book manage to provide a personal experience of an American becoming a vampire in an alternate reality. What was one of the most memorable moments of Nightlord?
I think the humour, which is often self deprecating. What does Sean Runnette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Form me the American accent which works very well with the pop culture references that so often lead to reflective humour. If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
An American in MordorGood Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Its a great story, and Garon Whited has created a wonderful blend of worlds and characters with real depth. What did you like best about this story?
It blends so many genres and does it very well indeed. As I've said the characters have real depth and you relate to each of them throughout the story. The "hero" is very believable and fallible too!Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances? How does this one compare?
As usual Sean Runnette is masterful in his performance. He does not "read a book"....he tells it like it's his story from his own memories. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not a chance at over 30 hours!Any additional comments?
GARON what a place to leave me hanging! Get writing this minute.....!!!!!Just getting better....and better.
