Story
Jimmy Bullard may not have had the perfect hair-do, his Granada Ghia may not have been the flashiest of cars, and he definitely didn't have a string of Page 3 girls trying to sell kiss and tell stories about him to the tabloids. But what he has in spades is a genuine love for The Beautiful Game that few of his peers can match. One of the last graduates from football's old school, Jimmy actually worked in the real world - including as a painter and decorator - before turning pro. Maybe that's why he played football with a smile on his face, always says what's on his mind, and is no stranger to a spot of mischief.

Lenny McLean was one of the deadliest bareknuckle fighters Britain has ever seen. He had dear, powerful friends, but he also had terrible enemies. So much so that he had two bullet wounds in his back - each from a different attack. He was also stabbed repeatedly - always from behind. But Lenny was also a warm, big-hearted grizzly bear of a man, whose main weakness was an overwhelming desire to put the welfare of his mates ahead of his own wellbeing.

Summary
Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas...what could possibly go wrong?
Ricky Hatton's brilliance as a boxer, his down-to-earth demeanour and his live-wire sense of humour have made him a national treasure. Five of Ricky's biggest and most explosive fights took place in the boxing Mecca of Las Vegas. Tens of thousands of British fans followed him there to watch these monumental bouts, and to soak up the unique atmosphere in Sin City.
In Ricky's Hatton's Vegas Tales, he recalls the most memorable moments: from fight negotiations through trash-talking transatlantic promotional tours, gruelling training camps, bizarre encounters with opponents, fans, A-list celebrities and boxing legends all the way to fight-week mayhem and the epic postfight benders that followed.
With contributions from family, friends and the journalists who know him best, tributes from Mexican boxing legends Oscar De La Hoya and Marco Antonio Barrera, plus the hilarious recollections of rock 'n' roll superstar Noel Gallagher, this is an anecdote-driven romp through all the highs and lows of Ricky's Vegas fights and the madness that preceded and followed each bout. What goes down in Vegas stays in Vegas...until now!

Brilliant insight. You don't t have to be a boxing fan to enjoy this book.
This is not a round by round analysis of Ricky's life or boxing career. It is simply the story of his time in Vegas and the appreciation he has of the opportunities boxing has given him. It is funny, humbling and very down to earth.
I enjoyed it from start to finish and could listen to it again.

It's a Knockout!
I am already a huge fan of Ricky but after listening to this book, my admiration for the fella has increased twice fold. The book gives a great insight to the parts of his Vegas years we didn't get to see, and in true Ricky style, he had me laughing out loud as he remains a down to earth bloke, despite his hugely successful boxing career. One of the easiest listens I had the pleasure of.

Dull with poor narration
Proved what a dull life celebrities actually live. A series of anecdotes and often inaccurate historical titbits. The narrator seems to have trouble getting his words out at times and not understand what he was reading. Nothing really exciting or interesting happens. As a boxing fan I found some of the insight into various characters in the industry to be of some interest but nothing to sustain a book. Some of the anecdotes were scraping the barrel. For example, going to a massage parlour hoping to get a 'sports massage' and being shocked and having to make a quick exit when being offered something else (how saucy is that?). Drinking too many bottles of free spirits before being told off (how daring). Arguing over biscuits. Make a full English breakfast by ordering a number of dishes. These stories will surely stay with me for a long time. Made my trip to Vegas actually seem exciting in comparison.
