Publisher's Summary

The inspirational classic, More than a Carpenter, is now updated for a new generation of seekers with a fresh look, revised material, and a new chapter that addresses questions commonly raised today. Former skeptic Josh McDowell is now joined by his son Sean as they examine the evidence about Jesus. Is he really the Lord he claimed to be? How can we know for sure? More than a Carpenter offers arguments for faith from a skeptic turned believer.

Since its original publication in 1977, this modern classic has sold over 15 million copies, been translated into dozens of languages, and introduced countless people to the real Jesus. Now with new content that addresses questions raised by today's popular atheist writers.

"Great Read, highly informative and Engaging."

I'd recommend this for every Christian and Non Christian.
For Christians there is enough bitesize information yo affirm your faithful and aid you when evangelising to atheists and theists of other faiths.

for the atheists this will get you started on evidence that Christ is who he says he is

    "OK"

This is a good book for someone who wants to accept Christianity but still looking for evidence. However, I find the evidence discussed here is a bit lame. The historical "evidence" here depends on the number of texts that support Christianity without validating the reliability of these texts and on a large number of prophecies that we cannot be sure if they were written before or after Jesus.
It is still a good book, trying its best to convince people of the undeniable evidence that it claims exists, while if you want to think objectively and not let yourself taken by the authors verbal excellency, you'll find the evidence as good as that of other religions (I'm trying not to name one). Atheists on the other side do not claim -as far as I know- that science is on their side as the author believes, but they rather refuse religion as an explanation and simply confess that they do not know.

    "Pretty good "

Great, convincing yet simple book on apologetics. I feel like the narrator is too young and Millennial sounding, which makes the reading lack gravity.

Loved how Josh McDowell brought his book "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" into this condensed format. Something I will read again and again to better equip myself to answer questions about the validity of Christ, His life and resurrection.

Amazing book! A wonderful discovery for genuine truth-seekers. Josh McDowell has done the research for us proving Jesus Christ is who he claimed to be.

"Tried to honestly listen to this book..."

Wow, could not listen to this book for longer than 30mins...it is basing much of "facts" on the Bible. I take the Bible for what it is, a popular account of stories, beliefs, and recollections of events that happened more than 2000 years ago. It is written by humans and translated many times. Is there useful information in the Bible, sure, there is also a lot of fantasy and symbolism that (depending on one's beliefs) are considered "factual" or "absolutely correct." Unfortunately, anyone who believes that the Bible is "fact" will immediately say this book is amazing and "true" which just props up their beliefs. Turns out "truth" is defined as "that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality" and "a fact or belief that is accepted as true". The very problem is the definition of truth...it uses the words "acceptance" and "accordance" which implies "not universal in nature" or "indisputable." Faith is not fact, it is the belief in something (whether factual or not.) Just because you have faith does not make it true for others, faith is personal. I'm not disputing whether Jesus existed or not, I just don't believe that the Bible should be the definitive litmus test for the claims...it is one source. I am spiritual, but I am cautious about relying on one book (The Bible) for all religious meaning. Wars have been fought and children have been exploited in "the name of god"...we should always seek to question why we believe in anything, we may never had a choice in what we believe.

    "Powerful"

This book was powerful. It's part testimony, part research. The truth that the author found after researching the Bible, its claims, and its authenticity was laid out really well in this book. The testimony of the change it made in the authors life was powerful. I really enjoyed this one and got some good life notes out of it.

    "This book is great!"

So I was searching in Audible for a book on carpentry and I saw this book at the top of the list it was a little misleading because I really did think it was going to talk about carpentry but as I got deeper into it I realized it was a book about Jesus Christ now having read the Bible I do understand many things about Jesus Christ so this was very helpful in my study of Jesus. I only took away one star because I was hoping at some point it would tie in carpentry with the trials of Jesus but it did not, other than that it was a wonderful book!
