Summary

Escape the enemy's deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God - offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. Don’t be fooled! You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. In this tenth anniversary edition of his best-selling book, John Bevere shows you how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality. With more than 400,000 copies in print, this audio book includes testimonials of transformed people who have read the original book and a devotional supplement, featuring discussion questions, scriptures, and prayers. You will find answers to tough questions like these: Why am I compelled to tell “my side” of the story? How can I fight thoughts of suspicion or distrust? What can I do to stop rehearsing past hurts? How can I regain trust after someone deeply offends me? This audio book will help you escape the enemy’s “offensive trap” as well as empower you to stay free of offense, enabling you to have an unhindered relationship with God.

Life Changing

This book contains so much truth, not only for those hurting. For anyone ready to value Gods truth over hurt and whatt the world says.
I am planning on listening to it again as the Devotional supplement is a 30 day Journey.
The first time, someone borrowed me a physical copy but listening to someone read it was a different beautiful experience.

Deliverance in a book - EVERY HUMAN MUST READ.

This book is phenomenal, I literally went in not wanted to let go of any grudges, I thought it would show me why the people who've offended me need to be dealt with and all I need to do is "forgive" but NOO the book humbled me, delivered me and restored me. Now all im seeking is to give love and honestly forgive. because now I understand Its SUCH a part of my faith. I read this book after coming to the END of myself and honestly, I've been revived.
HEALING in a book. I couldnt put it down/stop listening. it spun my world and changed my worldview. my heart is lighter now and only God could've done that.

Forgiveness is the KEY

This book was referred to me by a friend. Actually she said to be sure to get the hard copy because the book is so full of scripture you will want to look everything up the second go around.

Yea yea-- All I seem to have time for now a days is to listen. Get it!!!!!!!!!! There is so much information on forgiveness in this book. I struggle with forgiveness period!!! I guess when I forgave I wasn't truly in my heart letting it go, if I even forgave at all. I harbored grudges and lots of anger towards those that hurt or offended me. This book showed my how NOT to do that any longer. I am now working in the right direction in being able to forgive with an open and loving heart thru God, to truly cast my burdens on Him and FORGIVE and ASK for forgiveness!!! Forgiveness helps us to grow into the people that God really wants us to become. Loving, caring, full of kindness towards others and showing honor to Him.

Any place that you are at in your life, this book will show you so much more of Gods love and understanding. God's hand will be on you as you go thru this book and He will rain down His blessings when you finally receive the true understanding of forgiveness.

Get this book. Take the time to ask God to open your heart and to feel His presence while you are listening and He will guide you. You will see and feel the change.

In God's love and forgiveness,

sensitive to Gods voice

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

the whole book did, but the portion of when you justify your actions because you have been offended. when we do something, even though the bible backs us up... with what spirit, cause or reason am I doing it? vengence is mine says the lord... I finally get it.

Excellent book, do yourself a favor and get it.

If you are a Christian struggling in any area of you life, and you are having a hard time putting your finger on the problem (or maybe you know) read/listen to this book. It was a true gift of the Spirit. I listened to the whole of the book while on a long drive and was convicted, edified, taught and blown away! I will be buying a copy to read and reread often.

A Topic We All Need to Listen to and Understand

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bait of Satan?

This book tells about a very important doctrine from God's Holy Word and explains how God expects us to deal with offenses when they happen. John Bevere uses stories from his own life and from the Bible to illustrate the points of this doctrine so that we can understand how choices we make when we become offended can affect ourselves and others.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Some parts of this book are difficult to listen to and will evoke emotions that the listener will need to deal with after listening. I don't recommend listening in one sitting. I think it's best to take this book in pieces and deal with the emotions a little at a time.

Ideal read for some, but for others like me…

It is always a strength, and never a drawback for the actual author of the book to read the book himself. This book is no exception. However, his performance over the first 2/3 of the book goes along with some of the shortcomings of the book that just didn’t work for me. For those that are deeply rooted in scripture, hearing scripture quoted every third sentence of a book is probably no big deal. However, for me, to quote scripture all the time without in some way relating it to our lives today “muddies up“ the points made. It made it a much more difficult read for me. Again, may just be my preference – not others. However, to drive that point home, it became obvious that when the author was relating real - life examples along the way, he seemed much more energized in his reading, & much more in tune with his point. When he was reading scripture every other sentence, it truly seemed like he was reading, not speaking to me, and not conversational. While I will definitely take some salient points away from this book, it could have hit home much stronger if those shortcomings had been overcome.
