Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

An unexpected quest. Two worlds at stake. Are you ready?

Days after winning OASIS Founder James Halliday's contest, Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes everything.

Hidden within Halliday's vaults, waiting for his heir to find, lies a technological advancement that will once again change the world and make the OASIS a thousand times more wondrous - and addictive - than even Wade dreamed possible.

With it comes a new riddle and a new quest - a last Easter egg from Halliday, hinting at a mysterious prize.

And an unexpected, impossibly powerful and dangerous new rival awaits, one who'll kill millions to get what he wants.

Wade's life and the future of the OASIS are again at stake, but this time the fate of humanity also hangs in the balance.

Lovingly nostalgic and wildly original as only Ernest Cline could conceive it, Ready Player Two takes us on another imaginative, fun, action-packed adventure through his beloved virtual universe and jolts us thrillingly into the future once again.

That was a great Game.

A sequel that doesn't suck. A fantastic continuation of the story. Enjoyable and moving. Wil is the man and Cline is a boss. Great listen.

Glad to be back with Wade, but a much tougher read

If you like the first one (book not film), this is definitely worth ploughing into..

Struggles with its own Geek-Dom references a little .. particular in the latter stages.. almost incomprehensible.. well done Will Wheaton for getting his mouth around unbelievable dense narrative..

I enjoyed it.. but needed to listen to parts of it twice to get my head around.
The first was a 10.. the sequel is a 6/7..

a good follow up,, but.......

I highly enjoyed this follow up to the original story. good pacing, further character development, it takes it in an unexpected path, however.,....... the ending was predictable, I don't know how they could have ended it another way, tho. so I am very satisfied. will weaton, is great, apart from his horrible english accent for one of the characters, at the end, lol

Not so good

I loved loved loved book one but this did not live up to my expectations in any way. Obvious story lines with a strange conclusion. Such a shame but it was a hard act to follow.

Trying to one up a masterpiece doesn't work

After RP1 I was ecstatic to see RP2 being released. I was completely entranced by the whole "what happened after" until it turned into Sword Art Online and it went downhill from there. Trying to include all of the biggest AR/VR and tech clichés from rogue AI to if you die in game you die for real was too much.

It's a fun listen but don't expect the same level of penmanship and story telling

Wondrous Wheaton Strikes Again

While this story may not be on quite the same level as Ready Player One, I really enjoyed it. Wil Wheaton was captivating in his storytelling as usual!

Good book, great performance.

Good but there where sections where the scene settings was just too long and boring. But overall good story.

Well Worth the Wait!

I listened on audible and Wil Wheaton is fantastic. My favourite part was when they went to Shermer. Bravo Ernest.

Can’t do it!

As much as I loved the 1st one this one kinda dragged, got half way through and...... just had to turn it off.
It’s not like the worst book I’ve listened too just when you listened to ready player one and then this one..... massive down fall. If you’ve got a free token might as well get it but I’m gonna return the book to get my token back it’s just not worth keeping.
My honest opinion just stick to ready player one and give this one a miss.
