Summary

Sex is at the core of our identities. And when it becomes a compulsion, it can unravel our lives. Out of the Shadows is the premier work on this disorder, written by a pioneer in its treatment. Revised and updated to include the latest research - and to address the exploding phenomenon of cybersex addiction - this third edition identifies the danger signs, explains the dynamics, and describes the consequences of sexual addiction and dependency. With practical wisdom and spiritual clarity, it points the way out of the shadows of sexual compulsion and back into the light and fullness of life.

For the sex addict, this is great

There are too many evaluations of addicts from outsider perspectives that lack the comprehensive and compassionate focused approach towards sex addiction which this book is so very fortunate to have at its heart. I was recommended this from a fellowship member, and it had truly enlightened me to feel less alone and inclined to take the 12 step program more seriously. This is a hidden gem, and I’d recommend it to anyone with sex addiction/ or who are wondering if they are a co-addict. Thank you David Colacci.

What a demonising approach to people

This theory demonises (mostly) men painting them to be monsters with no way out unless they take the religious road of AA. Glad this is an old old theory
