Greatest book ever

Greatest book ever! As a medical student, I had tons of stuff that I needed to memorize and recall later. This book has made tackling large amounts of data much more manageable. I wish that I had this book years ago.

Memory improvement skills book

Very good book! Practical and laid out in a way that works up to higher and higher skill levels! This is better of the two books on the subject. Nothing is easy. All this needs work. If you're willing to invest the time and this is a great book.

Book is great

I really like this book. I'm on day 9 and I sense that my memory is already improving, even if I'm not really understanding his system; its like a daily workout for my brain. Good stuff. Recommended. Also the author dosent seem arrogant to me at all, on the contrary, he seems like a nice guy. Maybe a little on the looney side. I will listen it again.

Simple system of memorizing

As with anything else, use what you need from this book ad leave the rest. Some of the memory tips are very helpful. Compartmentalizing was something I had done when studying for a job I had years ago. But, now seeng it here confirmed what I had done was correct. And added more ideas to the system I already used.

Excellent book

The book is very easy to listen and has a lot of examples and tests. I have proved that the methods do work. I’m teaching my daughters how to create the memory palace and use it to learn facts easier and keep them in the long term memory. My 10nth year old daughter knows the presidents as well. Furthermore, this works for oral reports and presentations. 100% recommended...this book is money well spent.

A must for the family

Start teaching your children these techniques as early as possible so that studying does not become the huge monster it can become! Having attended one of the author's workshops where he proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that these techniques work this book is a great pocket guide and reminder to keep practising.

More than a motivational book

The first few chapters are kind of annoying, and they listen like a poorly written motivational book (nothing wrong with motivational books). Most of the book goes into specific techniques for memorizing and retaining information. The examples show that they work. Listen it in 3 sittings.

The book that I recommend the most

If you could sum up Memory Improvement in three words, what would they be?

works for everyone

What other book might you compare Memory Improvement to and why?

i haven't listened to anything that compares to this book

Any additional comments?

For anyone who has watched the television show The Mentalist you will be familiar with the character Patrick Jane's uncanny ability to recall seemingly every detail after entering a situation with his mind trick called his "Mind Palace". while watching the show you may feel that a memory like his is just a made up skill just for the show but after listening to Memory Improvement: How to Improve Your Memory in Just 30 Days i can tell you that it is a real skill and anyone can learn it.

this book is 30 chapters long and is designed to be read over the course of 30 days, each chapter (with the exception of 2, 4 and 15) is around 10 minutes long when listening and only takes a few minutes to practice the skills in each chapter.

This is yet another one of life's skills that i wish i was taught in school as it applies to real life but for everyone on the fence about getting this, if you desire a better memory it takes a little work but not as much as you think to actually see results.

Wow very effective!!

Wow! This was the best step by step guide to learning how to improve my memory. I loved how Kyle Faber walked me through each step without all the fluff. Simple and very effective if you follow the guide. Trying to get my kids to listen this book for school. I've read other memory books with this being the easiest to implement that I've run across. Even though I read other books, I was still a newbie. This is the first time I actually picked up the craft. He teaches how to memorize names, which is one of the best things we can memorize, among many other things. I went through all 30 days and am really on my way! Thank you Kyle Faber!!

Kyle Faber's memory book review

This book by Kyle Faber will do as the title says...Improve Your Memory.... I listen several books on the Memory Championships and it motivated me to find out more about the mechanics of improving one's memory. I researched some other champions ,before finding Kyle Faber's Memory Improvement. His orderly simplistic presentation allows you to experience improvement immediately. Since using his training I am remembering list of items and trivial information long after I have no need to retain it. This book has shown me how versatile these methods can be. I have recommended it to others and if you want to keep your mind active, remember names and faces, vocabulary, numbers longer than a telephone number or anything that you may use an external memory device, i.e. notepad, this book is for you. I rate it 5 full stars.

Improve you memory

This is an excellent book. It brings together the nuts and bolts of improving ones memory. I particularly enjoyed the format used to get your point across. Also your examples helped to make the methods clear. In addition, you provided many real life ways that memory improvement can add to our lives. The real life stories you told were great supporters of what we can achieve by improving our memory. And, following the practice exercises in your book provided us with a way to see real results. My memory is getting better and better with each challenge. Finally, by listening your memory book I've gained a life time tool. Many thanks. I'm well on my way.

Really works, and it's not hard

That's the wonderful thing about these techniques: They're highly efficient. They don't take nearly as much effort as one might expect. White suggests we use the more ancient parts of our brains - visual and geospatial - to memorize things, and I'm shocked at how easily I can remember phone numbers, credit card numbers, lists of bullet points for teaching students... what a godsend!

An Excellent and efficient Way

As the author of Memory Quiz, What Type Of Learner Are You? I know a lot about memory improvement. I have also taught courses on memory improvement to people with head injuries. Kyle Faber's book teaches the listener to start with the basics and build on what you alredy know. The day by day pace is helpful, as the listener is guided to learn a new technique and practice before moving on. Additionally, he makes the exercises fun and entertaining, which is a must when you are working hard to improve your memory. This book will help you build your confidence and improve your memory, whether you are a person who believes their memory is poor, or someone who is trying to improve their memory for school or work. I highly recommend it!

Easy

It was short & easy to listen. The techniques were easy to follow and work almost immediately. It's a book you can always come back to and brush up on the techniques if need be. Would recommend it to everyone looking to improve their memory.

Amazingly effective

I was highly skeptical about this book but decided to give it a try anyway. The chapters are quite short, and I finished the book in a little over a week. I can honestly say that I'm quite amazed. My memory has always been terrible, but in only a couple of days I became able to memorize lists of words after only looking at each word once. I can't imagine anyone not finding a variety of uses for a great trained memory.
