Summary

Saul Barnard is 'n houtkapper met 'n rustelose siel - hy wil vreemdes uit die Bos hou en die vernietiging van die Bos probeer keer. Dan is daar 'n legendariese olifantbul - Oupoot - wat losbreek van sy trop.... Oupoot en Saul het 'n vreemde band tussen hulle. In die groen skemerwêreld van die Outeniekwa loop hulle kringpaaie. Saul Barnard, deur sy mense verwerp en deur gewetenlose houtkopers tot kneg verneder; Oupoot, eindeloos agtervolg deur jagters. 'n Man en sy dier-broer - saamgegooi in 'n ongerepte oerbos, wat stuk vir stuk deur gouddelwers, boskappers en ander uitroeiers vernietig word. A fantastic story beautifully narrated

I had this as set work in high school but didn't appreciate it. A different story now! The detail is a delight, the narration superb and the story latches hold of you till the end. The Afrikaans is beautiful too.

Fantastic narration worthy of the outstanding book

Beautifully and cleverly written story of the circles in life, love and nature. The relationships between characters and wholesome description of individuals draws the reader into their lives with ease. Narration and pronounciation of Afrikaans is 100% and an absolute pleasure to listen to!
