Summary
In 2009 Malala Yousafzai began writing a blog on BBC Urdu about life in the Swat Valley as the Taliban gained control, at times banning girls from attending school. When her identity was discovered, Malala began to appear in both Pakistani and international media, advocating the freedom to pursue education for all.
In October 2012, gunmen boarded Malala's school bus and shot her in the face, a bullet passing through her head and into her shoulder. Remarkably, Malala survived the shooting. At a very young age, Malala Yousafzai has become a worldwide symbol of courage and hope. Her shooting has sparked a wave of solidarity across Pakistan, not to mention globally, for the right to education, freedom from terror and female emancipation.
I Am Malala, the memoir of Malala Yousafzai, will shed insight into the lives of those children who cannot attend school, will tell the inspiring story of a schoolgirl faced the Taliban with courage and bravery. Read by Archie Panjabi, with a prologue read by Malala Yousafzai.

This story is wonderfully written and read. Malala is the strongest young women I have ever heard of and I am so excited to see where she goes in her life and have no doubt she will change the way the world views education for women. well done Malala you are an inspiration!

Forgiveness not anger
A story that has to be heard. This girl was shot at close range. Not only did she survive which is a miracle in itself but she holds no anger or bitterness. She is hopeful and forgiving. This restores my faith in humankind, a must read.

Wonderful and inspiring.
Not only is this an inspiring and very easy to listen to story of a young Girl trying the live her life and continue her education through a turbulent period in Pakistani history. It is also filled with a fascinating insight into some of the recent history of Pakistan and the region. When Malala talks about some of the customs and culture of her region and the schools and Islamic teaching you start to understand how young men, in particular have been drawn into radical organisations like the Taliban. Of course while this is in many ways worrying overall Malala's story and that of her father who spent much of his life fighting to provide boys and girls with education is uplifting and everyone should read or listen to this book.
