When Claire sees a car full of children careen into a river, she rushes to the rescue. But the driver, a mother named Leah Holloway, prefers to drown. For Claire and her ex, Detective Connor Parks, it doesn't add up. What would motivate a woman with a beautiful family and a successful career to resort to such unspeakable extremes? FBI analyst Kassidy Bishop is assigned to the "'For You' Killer" task force after a series of sadistic murders bearing the same signature arise in different parts of the country. Summary
Round and round she goes, blonde pigtails flying, her high-pitched giggle catching on the wind. But as the ride slows to a stop, her seat is suddenly empty. Little Lucy is gone....
When seven-year-old Lucy Ross is snatched from the carousel in Denton city park, Detective Josie Quinn joins the frantic search. She’s the one who finds Lucy’s sparkly butterfly backpack abandoned by the ticket booth, a note with a devastating message stuffed inside: Answer your phone, or your sweet little darling will die....
The next day, Lucy’s parents are filled with hope when they pick up a call which they think is from their babysitter - but instead it’s a chilling male voice on the line. Josie races to the babysitter’s small apartment only to find her lifeless body in a tangle of sheets on her bed.
Josie is faced with the most high-stakes case of her career as each new phone call from someone connected to the family ends with the shocking discovery of another body. This twisted killer wants revenge, and he won’t stop until the Ross family are in pieces....
Something is telling Josie that Lucy’s parents aren’t giving her the whole truth, but digging deeper into their lives will force her to confront a life-changing secret of her own. Does Josie have what it takes to crack this case? She has no choice if she’s going to bring Lucy home alive....
An absolutely unputdownable new crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal best-selling author. Listeners who love Robert Dugoni, Angela Marsons, and Rachel Caine will be hooked.

Still entertaining, however...
Is Josie becoming more annoying? Maybe it’s just me. I love the way so many characters so often say “what?!” And they all sound exactly the same.
Given that so much is solved by a detective and a journalist (who has so much more access to data than the FBI!) perhaps the FBI should be disbanded to save the expense!
On to the next book. Entertaining crimes and excellent narration.

I love this series
The plots are complicated and keep me guessing. As the series progresses we get to know more about the main characters and their lives. If the fact that Josie always spots at least 4 overlooked items or clues is a tad irritating (no-one is that good), it doesn’t really spoil my enjoyment. The narrator is excellent too. I’m trying to eke out my listening because there aren’t that many really good series available. Highly recommend.

Was pretty excited but didn't look at narrator. I know that Kate has done others but I prefer E.Beaten. kate is so very robotic in this that its distracting. Just not like a J.Quinn book. Story line is good just not liking Kates narrative in this one..

Awesome
This was a great story with an unexpected story line. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was there were a handful of times they took God’s / Jesus name in vain. WHY? Why do they have to use any curse words? It was not pervasive but still negative.

I love Josie Quinn more after each book
Her Silent Cry is the sixth book in Lisa Regan’s Detective Josie Quinn series. Josie is at the park baby sitting Harris. While she is there Lucy Ross disappears as she exits the carousel. It is difficult to figure out how she vanishes in front of her parents. No one in the park remembers seeing her leave the park, but the longer it takes to find her, the more desperate the situation is. Josie can’t believe it. She rallies her team and fellow cops to canvas immediately, still little Lucy can’t be found.
It isn’t long before we find out that the kidnapper has a vendetta against Lucy’s mother, but why? There doesn’t appear to be anything in her background that would cause such hatred. Well until, Josie and her team start to delve into her past and find so many secrets. Will they find Lucy, or will the death toll continue to rise?
I love this series. The crimes are complex. The police procedural is well done and believable. The way Lisa Regan weave the plots and subplots together with the relationships of Josie and her fellow officers is captivating. There is an unanswered question from the previous book that Josie needs to resolve as her relationship with Noah grows. Luke returns with his dog to track Lucy. The relationships with Josie and her team continues to develop. Noah and Josie are getting back on track, after Noah lost his mother. Everything about this book from beginning to end is full of suspense. What an excellent series. I can’t wait for more.
Kate Handford does an excellent job bringing Josie and her team to life. Her narration adds to the story significantly.
