Summary

Everyone misses the mark occasionally. Everyone is operating at the highest level of consciousness they are capable of. People merit another opportunity. People are malleable. You should feel liberated. You deserve to experience what it's like to live a life free of bitterness taking up space in your head, heart, and life. To continue living your life, you don't need to wait for an apology. You lead a life. You can develop what's wonderful within of you when you let go of what goes on inside of other people.

Your feelings of kindness, generosity, and compassion are all increased through forgiveness, which also makes you more passionate and present in the world. Everyone in your life looks up to you as a role model. It's similar to loving oneself to love one's neighbor. All of us are linked. We have very little time left here on Earth, and what we do and say will decide where we will spend eternity.

It's one thing to claim that forgiveness heals and that it benefits the victim, not the perpetrator, but it's quite another to actually practice forgiveness. It is a process, not an event, to forgive. It's a choice that you keep making as it develops.

But why would you forgive someone, especially someone you love, who has wronged you? Sometimes, forgiving entails mending a bond that merits another shot. Sometimes it refers to denying anyone or anything control over your own life. Other times, you're simply prepared to purge your heart of malice. One of the toughest things you'll ever learn to do is to extend an offer of goodness to the person who caused your grief through your pain. One of life's greatest teachings is forgiveness.

I learned a lot from this audible

I am a Christian who has a great deal of trouble forgiving a coworker who caused me years of anguish and agony and seriously hurt my career. This book has made it clear to me that I share this person's sinful character. We owe money for our sins. Mine was removed by Jesus at a great cost. This book defines forgiveness as my decision to bear the full burden of another's bad deeds. Retaliating would imply that evil would triumph in my life and in my heart, which would make me bitter and angry. It's also acting as if God. I was helped by this book.

God corrects us because He loves us.

Forgiveness is a test of one's faith; it is undoubtedly difficult but unquestionably necessary. Ridgeway provides guidance on how to face the individual in a loving way as well as what is needed to know to be brave and take the steps to forgive people who have harmed us. The information also reveals how one who is confronted reacts; if done well, both parties gain. In an effort to tackle something that wasn't properly accepted, I gained perspective that actually alleviated guilt.

Great one listen book

I really liked Jason Ridgeway's book Forgive.
It contains a wealth of information on how to forgive, what forgiveness is, when to forgive, and other related topics. It's extremely real. Ridgeway demonstrates both the positive and negative aspects of forgiveness. Jesus demonstrated love in this manner by forgiving people. Through my words and deeds, I demonstrate my forgiveness for others.
