About this listen
To the children, the town was their whole world. To the adults, knowing better, Derry, Maine, was just their hometown: familiar, well ordered for the most part. A good place to live. It was the children who saw - and felt - what made Derry so horribly different.
In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurked, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one's deepest dread. Sometimes IT reached up, seizing, tearing, killing....
The adults, knowing better, knew nothing. Time passed, and the children grew up, moved away. The horror of IT was deep buried, wrapped in forgetfulness. Until they were called back, once more to confront IT as IT stirred and coiled in the sullen depths of their memories, reaching up again to make their past nightmares a terrible present reality.

If you could sum up It in three words, what would they be?
Excellent story telling. What other book might you compare It to, and why?
I can't think of any other book I would compare this to mostly due to the incredible detail King has out into this. What about Steven Weber’s performance did you like?
Weber was outstanding throughout. If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Everything Floats Down Here.Any additional comments?
After listening to this book, and starting to listen to another by a different author (which was also very good) I felt a little robbed by the new book; it seemed that compared to IT this new book was underdelivering. Let me explain: when King describes what a character is doing or thinking he goes into almost minute detail which gives you a real 3-dimentional feel for the character, environment, scene etc. without inundating you with useless facts. every piece of information is relevant and delivered in an entertaining fashion. In the new book a character casually lifted a rose from a nearby table and I remember thinking to myself if that were King writing I would know what type of table that was as well as knowing the exact hue of the petals on the rose, how vibrant or degraded the flower was and how the texture of the petals felt to the character and possibly what memories or emotional responses it elicited in him/her. I honestly felt robbed that this other author just had his character lift a rose. I guess King can just spoil the reader/listener.
Classic King
