Summary
The first three adventures in the million-selling Feathers and Fire series: Unchained, Rage, and Whispers.
"Kevin Hearne, Jim Butcher, K.F. Breene, and now Shayne Silvers has been added to my favorite Urban Fantasy Authors list." (Michael Anderle, Amazon Top 25 best-selling author)
Who is Callie Penrose?
They say she’s been kissed by Heaven - whatever the Hell that means. Because Callie was orphaned on the steps of a church in Kansas City, and doesn’t know her parents. She starts out as a rookie wizard who hunts monsters for the Vatican. Except…ironically, she’s never been a churchy kind of girl, and she quickly learns that monsters can reside anywhere.
Even among the most devout.
Get ready for Callie to take you on a gripping adventure into a new kind of Sunday School. Be on your best behavior, because she won’t crack a ruler over your knuckles to teach you a lesson - more like whips of fire and brimstone to your face.
Hell hath no fury like Callie Penrose. And that’s before she discovers her strange childhood ties to a jerk named Nate Temple in St. Louis....
If you like Jim Butcher, Sarah J. Maas, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the highly addictive Feathers and Fire series.

Another great Shayne Silver series ....but......
I have been a fan/reader of Silvers books for the past 18 months or so, but this is my first audible version of his books.
The story as expected is great and the performance is better than other audible books I’ve listened to.
My only issue was , the narration seemed to be running faster than it should be. I first double checked to make sure the speed was set to x1.0 and it was. Something that might be related to the speed issue was the occasional skipping/glitching that seemed to happen at the end of some sentences. It didn’t happen enough to stop me listening but enough to annoy me.

Mixed feelings.
3 books. I enjoyed the overall concept of the trilogy, which was a ‘coming of age’ overlaid on a “fighting injustice” and finishing with a “good triumphs over evil”. I enjoyed the first book 100%. By the end of the second book I became aware of some repetition, but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of it. The repetition, which was couched in the form of the characters thought process, began to annoy me by the middle of the third book. As did the ‘cussing’ that gradually increased as the character grew in strength & confidence, until by the last few chapters it was virtually constant. Overall, I like the story concept, and the narrator was very good. I look forward to seeing how this author develops their style.

full of twist and turns
First off the narrator nichole poole definitely made this book as good as it was to listen too.
She manages to do different voices for everyone which makes it so easy to keep up with who is who.
As for the book I was sceptical at first as I am not religious at all and this book follows the journey of a shepard and his apprentice who do missions for the church.
so glad it did not go into religion it is just part of the story.
always something happening with twist and turns.
I am hoping that there is a bit of romance in the next book.
overall well worth the money to purchase this book if u like fast paced books fighting ware wolves , vampires or bears and of course some high and mighty up their own rear bishop's 😉

12 stars at least! 14, for the amazing heroine.
Oh wow. I am in love with those stories. The first two books are awesome. Interesting, clever and well built world, full of irresistible mythology and bulletproof characters. The mystic draws you in and you spend quite a few hours next to awesome cast in a well written saga. Engrossed and enjoying the ride.
The perfect set up for the third book.
The real magic happens in the third book. That book is a masterpiece. The flow of the story is so fast paced and gripping, the author does just not let go of the reader till the book is finished. And in a story gripping you by the throat by it´s suspense and action, there is still time for all those witty one liners. I too want my t-shirt saying "I did not say that, Jesus".
Thank you author and narrator, that was one fabulous ride, you both are perfect! Just wow, thank you!
