Summary

The Culture of Honor is a book of reformation. It is intended to disrupt our current model of authority. Jesus put it like this in Matthew 20:25-26: "But Jesus called them to Himself and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. Those with power must learn to empower those around them or we will never build Heaven on the Earth."

transformation through honor

changing the culture in the places that we minister is a road worth travelling in this journey of bringing the Kingdom of Heaven to earth and this book stirs up this realisation God honoured us by the Cross and we are now FREE of the law of sin and death. It is time to scrap the age long and cemented habits and core values that do not bring honor to ourselves and to God, it is time to release the life of God into our homes, workplaces and churches through this culture of honor, it is time for us to invite people into the experience of God's love and generosity and equip them to do the same, and it is definitely time to make heaven on earth out new reality!

Really enlightening

I really enjoyed this book. It’s very easy to listen to but it gently deals with healthy confrontation which is so important. This book demonstrates a lot grace and it’s refreshing as it stands out legalism.

Good book, but let down by Audible.

Great book with loads of thought provoking material, will refer back to it again. Great reading too. Occasionally I thought it came across a little Bethal Church has it all sorted, but on the whole it was a good book. I guess Danny can only write about his experiences, which centre around his church.

The loss of a star was because the PDF which is referred to several times, that should have come with the audiobook, as per text of book, was not included with the book. I contacted Audible who passed me around the houses, but failed to provide said PDF.

A must if you want to see heaven brought to earth.

A fantastic book explaining what must happen in the hearts of man, church leadership, and in today's churches so that they are in proper alignment with God so that heaven can be brought to earth.

Life changing book!

Cultivating a culture of honor and even defining what that looks like has been a question in my heart for several months now. I was directed to this book after some circumstances that could have led to enormous offense with some of my brothers and sisters. God really spoke to me through this book as I was working through and processing what happened. It kept me from offense and sped of my process of repentance and searching for what the Lord would have wanted me to honor them with!

This book partners well with the other books by Danny Silk, and builds off of solid, biblical teaching. He looks at scripture differently and teaches differently than any other pastor I've experienced. While meaty, the contract is accessible and easy to sit with and understand. Thank you so much for writing this book!

If the church gets a hold of this concept it'll

If the church gets a hold of this concept it'll change the world.
This book has a lot of meat and if your looking for you or your church to learn more about how Jesus came to set up the church, this is the book for you!
It takes the concept of the New Testament and applies it to our church of today and the way Jesus came to set up the church. Very good content.
Some chapters were a little choppy to listen to and understand easily.
The reader read it really fast so I had you slow it down in the audible app to be able to follow.
The reader also doesn't add any emphasise to the story. He reads everything the same.

I'm studying this book in a Bible study at church, and the audible version is a blessing because of time restraints sitting down to read. But, if you have the time to sit down and read the book, I think you'll get more out of it. Listen to the sample on audible and see what you think. This is just my personal opinion.
I'm glad I bought the audible version but I think reading the book is better based on the guy reader. I spent a lot of time rewinding to relisten to something over and over to grasp the concept.
But if you don't have time to sit down and read it this isn't still a great option. I'm still thankful for audible or else I would never have time to read the books I like to read.

Culture of Honor

Loved this book! Found myself at the beginning of this book with the people young people. So loved how they were asked the right questions that brought healing, deliverance and transformation.

I give God praise forever for leading to this book (blessings to Dr. Matthew L Stevenson III, Chicago, IL and Dr. Hart Ramsey, Dothan/Montgomery, AL who recommended)👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

The book kept everything so simple. I love how the ministry so loved that couple. Brings moisture to my eyes just reflecting. All i can say is thank you. I pray many more will understand

Supernatural environment available

The author does an excellent job of weaving Scripture with stories to show a scriptural way of dealing with difficult situations through a supernatural approach to church leadership and functions of the church. There is a lot to digest for those of us used to other paths of leadership. The helpfulness of this approach when connecting with people was evident.

The narrator did a good job of helping this come alive.

Outstanding revelation

This book takes your current views on what fellowship is and turns it upside down. It is a paradigm shift that is necessary for life to flow between our brothers and sisters in Christ and to those outside. The fruit that is produced from this is absolutely incredible!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired of the division and fighting we see constantly in most churches, and the status quo of the so-called “Christian walk”. This book shows how we are to walk together to change the world, just like the apostles did.
