Millions are satisfied to sit through hour-long, weekly religious services. Millions more have left the church, brokenhearted and cynical. But God is waking up his people - people who will risk everything and sacrifice anything to become the dynamic, powerful church seen in Scripture. We Are Church calls Christ-followers, young and old, to hold fast to their biblical roots while seeking radical change. Scripture promises an exuberant and unstoppable church. That wondrous early church of acts can be our reality today.

Story
Many seek reassurance or perceived unity by creating doctrinal statements, but that misses the point. Doctrine is necessary, but it is not the solution. In his new book Until Unity, New York Times best-selling author Francis Chan tells listeners that the real problem is shallow or even nonexistent love for each other. Although the Bible commands unity, some will resist these unifying efforts. We see it every day. We have to hate sin, love truth, and pursue unity for the church.

The author of the best-selling Crazy Love pleads passionately for the church to live by the power of the forgotten God: the Holy Spirit. Calling Christians to more than just a better life, Chan says he wants to live a life unexplainable without the Holy Spirit, so dependent on the Spirit that, he says, "If he doesn't come through, I'm screwed." He offers vivid personal stories about how the church ought to help Christians discern the powerful gifts of the Spirit, rather than toning down radicals.

If it's good, it must be God. Right? These days the terms good and God seem synonymous. We believe that what's generally accepted as good must be in line with God's will. Generosity, humility, justice - good. Selfishness, arrogance, cruelty - evil. The distinction seems pretty straightforward. But is that all there is to it? This audiobook will do more than ask you to change your behavior. It will empower you to engage with God on a level that will change every aspect of your life.

A Bob George Classic
- By Dan & Kim on 27-11-20
Summary
God is love. Crazy, relentless, all-powerful love. Revised and updated edition of the best-seller, now with a new preface and a bonus chapter.
Have you ever wondered if we’re missing it? It’s crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe - the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor - loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Whether you’ve verbalized it yet or not, we all know something’s wrong. Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions?
God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do's and don'ts - it's falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same. Because when you’re wildly in love with someone, it changes everything.

Francis Chan is not a good narrator
Francis Chan is a very inspiring preacher, I have heard him preach many times on YouTube, but he is not a good narrator. It is a very different skill. He sounds as if he is reading to the book, not reading to the listener, and he sounds as if he is bored with what he is reading, ..... perhaps having preached this message so often it is not fresh to him. In his preaching he is passionate about his message, but in his narration his speaking lacks vitality and it is thus relatively difficult to keep one's attention on it. Thus I cant give a rating on the content, because I did not hear it all, I became bored due to the lack of narration skill.

Challenging, convicting, life-transforming
If you're not willing to be challenged or convicted, and unprepared for your walk as a Christian to be scrutinised and altered - then this is not the book for you. However, it IS a book that all Christians should listen to or read as it contains truths that are not sugar coated or glossed over, and they are truths we need to hear. Amazing words from such a humble servant of God, and I will definitely be listening again to bring about change in my own life.

Really good read! Simple yet thought provoking
I really liked how pastor Francis Chan discussed relatively simple topics but delved into them and sharing examples which really hit home. I had to pause the book a couple of times to really digest and contemplate what was being discussed. There was a particular story shared about death that touched me and was so timely. I’ve gone on to share it with others around me as well. Worth the read!

This book, though beautifully written by Francis Chan whom God is using magnificently, is a call to see how much the God of the universe loves us. We are beyond unworthy and yet this book shows how much His love is for you, but it also shows how much we should love Him in return! What a beautiful truth and a hard, yet needed, calling! Thank you God for speaking the words to Francis and thank you Francis for being bold enough to write what God was laying on your heart!

Francis Should Not Read His Books
Would you try another book from Francis Chan and/or Francis Chan?
I love this book and I love to hear Francis Chan. However, this book put me to sleep the way he read it. I was looking forward to listening on my road trip and I had to put on something else. He does not read it with the passion he possesses in his speaking. It was so distracting I had to just stop.
What didn’t you like about Francis Chan’s performance?
He seemed to read it without feeling. Just reading words and was very slow and methodical. Nothing like he speaks.
Did Crazy Love (Revised and Updated) inspire you to do anything?
He's an amazing teacher and this book is a classic for me to go to. But, I'll have to have a hard copy and not the audible.
